From Dunkin to Daytona

Let’s get caught up on our last week of “vacay” in Daytona Beach! It was actually Jeff’s annual conference for his work, but we were able to tag along and stay in his hotel and everything, for free! Well, we paid to extend the hotel room & the rental van for an extra night, but the office paid for the majority of things. I thought I might try to do one large re-cap post of the whole week, but I have wayyy too many photos and videos to share for that, and it would never all fit in one post. So I’ll still work on doing catch-up posts for each day of our past week!

MONDAY

We started off last Monday morning running around town, first to Dunkin for a free tote with purchase of half dozen donuts. Then we dropped off Jeff at the rental car place, and he went into work to pack up the tech equipment he needed. The girls and I went back home to finish packing, and I did a few more chores around the house.

Jeff then came home and took Pennie to her doggie hotel place, we packed up the back of the rental van with all our bags, suitcases, and gear, plus the little girlies, and then we were ready to hit the road, in our rented Honda Odyssey!

Lunch stop at Big Wood BBQ in Live Oak was a delicious spot, with a salad bar for me, and way more delicious than a quick stop for lunch at the Busy Bee own the road.

Then we had dessert in the afternoon at this little spot Jeff found a few years back, in the middle of nowhere Silver Springs, at an RV park.

 

 

And before we knew it, we were driving into Ormond Beach, with plans to have dinner on the beach before going to our hotel, and we found this cute Little Free Library on our way, completely unplanned.

And then we found a beautiful spot for dinner on the beach. The food was decent (nothing spectacular, honestly), but the spot was perfect!

And then it was time to check into our hotel finally and get everything up to the room.

After getting everything unloaded, we took a quick walk outside to see the ocean again, spent some time out enjoying the ocean breeze, and then headed upstairs to get ready for bed, because we were beat!
