Gnome Tree & Ocean Waves

Alright, after two days of blogging whenever I get some free time, we’re nearing the end of the week. If you’ve missed it, you can check out the earlier days here: Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. And now we’re at…

THURSDAY

Planned some activities for the girls and I around town again for the morning hours, so our day started with breakfast in the hotel room, and then a walk across the street to the parking lot, which was about half a block down, not attached directly to the hotel. And Thursday was declared strawberry day for the girls’ outfits.

We visited another library, this one was the branch in Ormond Beach, and once again had an amazing children’s area, far better than any we have here in Tally. Emerson made friends with this tiny 3-year-old boy, and his Grandpa loved watching them together. He was like, “Is she yours? What a cool kid.” I was very proud of her 🙂

We next visited the Bailey Riverbridge Gardens, and did the little boardwalk over the river, and found a LFL there as well!

Found a coupe more LFL in the area using their app, and lucked out with the Netflix movie tie-in cover of Remarkably Bright Creatures, which I’ve read before, but don’t own, and haven’t yet seen the movie. So I really need to get on that!

Our next little adventure was to find the Holly Hill Gnome Tree, which is literally just a beautiful old oak tree, that people have brought tons of gnomes here to live! The girls loved checking them all out and exploring all the little guys. (Anyone can leave gnomes, but they’re not for taking.)

And then of course we had to try out another local coffee cart. This one was way out of the way from our usual part of town, but it was so stinking cute I had to check it out. And it was so lovely and adorable, and had a great place for the girls to play. It was definitely worth the jaunt out into the forest for an iced latte 😉

Back to the hotel for lunch in the room, and then Jeff’s conference was actually over at noon on Thursday, so he was able to hang out with us at the pool and beach for the afternoon!

Addie actually wanted to stay at the beach even longer, but Emmie was ready to be done for the day. So her and I went up to the room to shower and change, and Jeff and Addie stayed at the beach another 20-30 minutes. And I actually watched them playing from the balcony in our room, while I just propped myself up to read for a bit. And look at this view from our room!

The weather was perfect this night, so we found a little hot dog place where we could eat outside, and it was so nice.

And the sky on the last night of our little vacay was so beautiful!

We spent about 30-ish minutes getting as much as we could packed up and thrown back into bags and suitcases before bedtime, so that Friday morning would be easier. Thursday was obviously our fullest, busiest day (as can be proved by this post which has the largest amount of photos and videos of any day), and we were glad to have Jeff hanging out with us for half of it, once his conference was over!
