Family Center

I was at church early for choir today, but Jeff brought these little beauties on time for service, looking adorable, and toting their sweet new Precious Moment’s Bibles from Grandmommie.

We also had an incredible service today, lots of prayer and praise and a full choir and lots of family. And the church dedicated our recently renovated “two-story building” to Bo’s late father, Kenny, who was the pastor at GC for a lot of years a lot of Bo’s childhood. Bo’s office now as the children’s pastor is the same office his dad worked in as the lead pastor for so long. So now, the “two-story building” is renamed to the Kenny Walker Family Center! And it was a total surprise to Bo and his mom, and even his grandmother and aunt (and uncle) from TN were here on vacay in PC and came for the surprise.

And today was the annual GC Kids & GC Youth lemonade stand to raise money for missions, so obviously we had to get both of the girls a lemonade slushie to help support!

Then the whole big 17-people family went out for lunch at Milano’s to celebrate the big Sunday morning. I got an antipasto salad, which was delicious, and we just hope I don’t get the cyclospora…

We had to pick up our Walmart grocery order after lunch, and do a quick run into Dollar Tree as well. We got the food all put away, and then Jeff took Emmie shopping at Five Below with her birthday money, and Addie and I stayed home to rest, because her and I were super tired. I did get started on a new puzzle though. And we watched the new princess song special thing on Disney+, which was actually very short but fun.

Late this afternoon, we drove up to Havana to go to Nana and PopPop’s house for dinner, and Addie Pie fell asleep in the car on the way there, so Jeff sat in the car with her, letting her sleep for a while longer.

But Emmie and I went inside, and I made the pickle dip from last weekend again, so we could have it as an appetizer, and with dinner, tonight. And Emmie came over to help me too. Nana had made chicken salad yesterday, so we had that on rolls, with chips & baby carrots and pickle dip for dinner.

And then Emerson made herself an ice cream sandwich with homemade chocolate chip cookies Nana also baked yesterday.

And here’s Jeff and his new car! It’s a Hyundai Ioniq 5, which is a fully electric SUV. Like I said yesterday, he’s been doing the research (extensively) for months now, shopping around and test-driving, and he found this one as  a 2024 certified pre-owned up in McDonough, GA. And now we are a cute little matchy-matchy couple, since we both have small white SUV’s 😉

Saw this beautiful sunset through the trees on the drive home, and then immediately got the girls started on bedtime. Emmie was asleep very quickly, but Addie was having a rough time falling asleep in her own bed. I think Jeff’s still in there with her actually.

But hopefully we’ll all be able to get some decent sleep, since tomorrow starts our first full week of school!
