Double Caesar

The happiest, smiley-est girls after church today!

We had a very quick lunch at Zaxby’s after lunch, and then the girls went with Jeff, and I went back to church for choir and band rehearsal of our new songs for next month.

After rehearsal, I took a little couch nap when I got back home, and then worked on my puzzle, until it was time to start dinner.

For dinner, I tried out another new TikTok recipe again, called chicken caesar bake. It’s chicken first, then caesar dressing, shredded cheese, crushed croutons covered in melted butter, sun-dried tomatoes, and plenty of seasonings. Then baked until cooked, served with mashed potatoes and caesar salad. The flavors were actually really good, and I loved the combo of the tomatoes & buttery croutons. But I have issues with chicken, because I’m always worried about making sure it’s totally cooked through, and issues with those gristly parts. So I kinda got the ick (iykyk) and I don’t think I’ll be cooking chicken like that again for a while 😬

We had been playing praise and worship music on the tv in the living room basically all afternoon, from puzzle time, through cooking, and dinner, and when one of the girls’ favorite songs from East Hill summer camp came on, they just HAD to get up and dance!

 

 

 

Jeff and I worked on the puzzle and watched YouTube vids while the girls played together after dinner. They were running around like wild, using their imagination, playing “flight school.” Emerson said they were doing training, and navigation, and some other big words I forget now but was impressed with that the time 😂

And then we heard a yelp and a big crash from the back of the house, and then Emerson was just standing in the hallway crying. So we went to check on them, and they had knocked a couple of things off the wall and one of the frames broke. They had been throwing Pennie’s ball down the hallway, and I think Emmie must have thrown it straight at the wall and things came crashing down.

It was just a frame that broke though, and the “home” sign fell off the wall, but it was minor and nothing that was irreplaceable or some sort of priceless family heirloom. So once we safely got the girls in their barefeet out of the hallway, Jeff got it all cleaned up, and I got Emmie calmed down.

We settled down to calm down on the couch after that excitement, and watched some tv before their bedtime. Addie wanted her big sister to read her book to her tonight, so Emmie grabbed a cute penguin one, and they snuggled up in my bed together.

I’ve already washed up the dishes from tonight, so now I’m getting back to work on my puzzle, and might even finish it tonight before bedtime…
