Outboard

We woke up and decided to treat ourselves to a nice breakfast, that didn’t come from a drive-thru, or have to be cooked by my own two hands 😂 We talked about a few options around our area, but ultimately decided to head across town to try out Outboard Coffee Co, which I’ve been wanting to try for a little while now. And please look at how perfectly cute and fashionable these girls were this morning! When Addie was picking out shoes, she had already grabbed her rainbow cloud purse, and she asked, “Mama, can I wear these rainbow jellies so they’ll match my bag?” I was like, “Well yes, little fashionista that’s a great idea!”

Inside Addie’s rainbow cloud purse, she only had four small things – two little make-up things, and two lip glosses. And she sat at the breakfast table just going to town putting on eye shadow, until we stopped her from putting on a very dark layer of brown. And then I had Emmie smooth it out for her, so it wouldn’t be quite so bright blue.

Their summer special coffee drink was this s’mores latte, I chose iced, and Jeff got the same thing hot. And we let Emmie get a chai latte (sans espresso), and we all loved our drinks.

And look at how beautiful all this food is! Jeff got the everything bagel breakfast sandwich, I got the breakfast tacos, and Emmie and Addie shared both the churro donut and the breakfast biscuit sandwich. The three meals all came with the cowboy busted potatoes, and those were amazing. They were crispy and salty and so perfectly seasoned, and just delicious! The tacos were good, but certainly not the best breakfast tacos I’ve ever had. There are a few other things on the menu I’d like to try if we ever make it back there though!

Quick trip to Lowe’s after breakfast to grab some supplies to do… something or other… with the outlet in the washer/dryer closet in the carport, that will be better to charge Jeff’s new EV car. Couldn’t tell ya anything more specific that that though 😆 And while there, the girls found the ever-so-popular little squishy dumplings, for only a couple of dollars each, and so of course they convinced their Daddy to buy them for them 🙂

We got back home late morning, and then we got busy doing alllll sorts of chores. We didn’t make any plans today, specifically so that we could stay home and get things done, to get our lives back in order a little bit. We did yard work, laundry, dishes, cleaning, more laundry, more tidying, grocery pickup and subsequent organizing, some puzzle time, some play time, more tidying, more laundry, and some afternoon-movie-rest-time once it started raining. Jeff got cleaned up after yard work, and then fell asleep in the living room chair for a bit.

When he woke up, he watched one of those YouTube videos about all the good deals at Costco right now (even though we don’t have a membership!), and then started craving a hot dog so badly, that we had to drive clear across town to go get that for dinner! But everything was delicious, and we paid like $15 for our whole family (which was a nice change from the pricier breakfast spot this morning), and had a little taste test buffet of some of their most popular hits. And that chicken bake was the biggest, and most delicious surprise.

The girls got in the bath when we got home, and Jeff started another load of laundry, while I hung up some clean clothes in our room. We had a few minutes for some pre-bedtime tv with the girls, and then they both fell asleep easily. We are trying another new tactic with Addie’s sleep issues, suggested by a work friend yesterday. We moved her mattress into the floor of our room, and we’re trying to get her used to sleeping on the mattress itself, and then eventually we can move it back to her room. She was back & forth from her mattress to our bed last night multiple times, but eventually around 4am we just let her stay there so we could just keep sleeping ourselves. So, we’ll see how she does with it again tonight…

Jeff is currently working on replacing my phone camera, so hoping and praying that it goes well, so I can get back to normal tomorrow. I kept swiping his phone today, and just tucking it in my own purse, so I could easily snap pictures. So while he works on that, I’m watching the latest episode of “Silo” on AppleTV, and gonna re-paint my fingernails.
