Disco Cowgirl

First thing this morning, we scrounged up some stuff for the girls to eat for breakfast, and I did some early morning chores and dishes. Then we got dressed and ready to head out to a birthday party. Addie’s little bestie Nora also turned 5 this month, and they had a sweet little party with water play in the backyard.

These little girlies played so hard they never stopped to snack, until the party was over and everyone else was gone. So we plopped them in front of the TV to watch the Broadway Frozen, and they were so cute sitting there together. It was a pink disco cowgirl theme which was so cute, but somehow I didn’t get any photos of the theme part of things…

And of course they had to go play in the bedroom for a few minutes too. Emmie was there with us, but she was playing with the big girls, and I didn’t get any photos of them.

Next up, was a stop at East Hill to pick up the girls’ swim bags for summer camp this year! This will be Emerson’s fourth year there, but Addison’s first! So we took the tour again, so that Addie could see everything and try to get her comfortable and familiar with the new place.

We had a few hours at home after that, working on some chores, and also getting some rest time and play time and reading time.

We got the girls in the bathtub for an early bath around 5pm, and got them into their jammies. Then they sat in the living room watching the driveway camera on the Google Hub, waiting for their babysitter to come because they were so excited! Miss Sydney, a friend from church who also volunteers in Addie’s preschool room, came over to hang out with the girls tonight, while we went out to dinner with some friends.

We had delicious burgers at Midtown Caboose with a group of friends from church for a birthday party, but this is literally the only photo I took. I got the Reagan burger (fried green tomato, goat cheese, balsamic glaze, arugula, & red onion), which is my typical go-to there, and a longtime favorite. But I chose the veggies on the side for the healthier option.

We had a great night out with friends, lots of story telling and laughing, and then loved coming home to our cozy house and our cute, sleeping girls. Addie did wake up and come out crying not too long after we got home, but she just wanted some Mama loves and then she felt much better. Looking forward to two more days of fun weekend family time!
