Butter Chicken

Jeff and I were both serving in GC Kids today, so the whole fam went to church early. Addison is still in her Elsa-gloves phase, so she was rocking those to church again today.

Ran into the sanctuary first though, to see Aunt Meggie singing on the worship team during rehearsal, and love on the trippies who were in there hanging out too.

And I love this little chocolate-icing face.

A nice lady at church gave me this giant, beautiful, 24-count of fresh backyard eggs from their chickens, and I’m excited to make a breakfast casserole using these tomorrow.

One of our fifth grade student leaders did her very first teaching time today, and she did a great job!

We went to Prime Time Aaddaaa for lunch today, after I saw something on Google Maps about BOGO entrees. Well, it turns out it’s not exactly BOGO, but it’s definitely discounted (although the receipt was confusing and we honestly don’t really know what we paid for what…?), but it did seem like a great deal, and everything was absolutely delicious.

We got all of this food (two butter chickens, plain naan, garlic naan, veggie samosa’s, plus a third bowl of rice not pictured) for $45, including tax and tip, and we were stuffed afterwards. And surprisingly, even both girls loved it!! Emmie has had it before and really liked it, but we were surprised with how much Addie liked it and ate. Both girls actually had multiple little helpings, and filled their bellies with curry.

Towards the end of the meal, Emerson was like, “Let’s come here again and remind me I like curry.” She then remembered when she was little that I took a video of her on time saying she liked sloppy joes, so that I could convince her of that next time… So she grabbed my phone and took this video of herself, and it was so cute! I loved it, and was also cracking up about it.

We had some nice rest time on a rainy Sunday afternoon when we got home from lunch. Addison laid down with Daddy, but she only napped about 30 minutes or so. Emerson and I started watching “Fly Away Home” (one of Meg’s favorite movies from our childhood), and I was kind of in and out of sleep during that movie, but Emerson was very into it and loved it. But since it was so rainy and yucky, we were stuck inside all day, but we entertained ourselves with books and puzzles and dress-up clothes.

I baked some sweet potatoes late this afternoon, and then just heated up some store-bought pulled pork and a can of lima beans. It wasn’t a great dinner, but it did the trick at least…

And then I started up another new-to-me puzzle. This is one I got from a Little Free Library a few weeks ago, and it’s gonna be a fun, easy one, at only 300 pieces, which are quite large and easy to put together.

And of course I had a couple of cutie little helpers jump in on it with me.

Wish the weather wasn’t so nasty this weekend, as we would have liked some time in the sun at the pool or the beach. But at least we still get some family time together again for another day tomorrow!
