Dining Room Work

Emerson and Addison just have the sweetest little relationship already, even at these early ages. We put Addison in her play pen while we got ready, and Emmie just pulled her chair right up next to her, and kept her entertained and they played together and Emmie sang to her. It was very sweet. (Also, please make sure to notice Emerson is wearing two different color gloves, which of course she picked out on her own.)

And then all four of us went down to FAMU for some covid testing… We were told yesterday that we had been exposed on Sunday, and that Emerson had been exposed at school. So we just wanted to get checked just to be safe. Within about 10 minutes, we all got our negative results, so praise the Lord for that!

I was able to drop Emerson off at school just in time for her to do ballet class, so she was very excited she didn’t miss out on that.

And then since my office found out I had been exposed (and we actually have some positive cases in my office already), they gave me the option to telework for a couple of days, and I jumped at the chance! We were actually recently given these portable additional monitors, so that was nice to have an extra screen to go with the tiny laptop screen too.

I got to go back to working in my dining room with a candle lit, and then eat my delicious homemade curry leftovers on the couch while watching Survivor on my lunch break. And then for my afternoon break time, it was iced-coffee-o’clock, using this creamer my coworker gave me because she didn’t like it, but I think it’s yummy!

Got a few pics from the girls’ teachers today…

I threw a frozen lasagna in the oven right at 5pm, and once the girls and I were back home, Addie stayed sleeping in her car seat for a while, and Emmie and I cuddled on the couch watching “Encanto.” Then all I had to do was throw some garlic bread in the oven, and I made some side salads for Jeff and I, and then everything was ready. Addie enjoyed her baby food, and even got to try a few small bites of the lasagna too.

It was almost straight to bedtime by the time we finished dinner, so it was jammies and a few cuddles, then a bottle for Addison, and some cough syrup for Emerson.

She was sad about not feeling great (we plan to test again tomorrow at some point), but I told her if she was really good at bedtime, I would take her to Publix and let her pick whatever ice cream she wanted. But she was like, “Or at Walmart, because they have the goodest ice cream, ya know.”

Emerson went to sleep super duper easily tonight, but Addison is currently very upset (after being put in her crib and gotten back out already), and she’s screaming in Daddy’s arms. So hopefully we can get her calmed down and back to sleep quickly.
