Cavity-Free Cheetah Girl

Emerson had a mid-morning dental appointment this morning, so we had a slow morning at home before-hand, watching Frozen II and eating donuts we grabbed yesterday.

We got dressed in our matching cheetah print dresses (I still can’t ever decide if it’s cheetah or leopard, and I go back & forth and call it both), and headed off to the dentist! (But first, we had to run through the CVS pharmacy drive-thru, because she had to take one dose of an antibiotic, due to her recent surgery.)

They got her all set up with sunglasses and head phones, and she chose to watch “The Secret Life of Pets” on the TV on the ceiling, which she just thought was the greatest! She also kept giggling at the show, which was adorable. She did so super great there, and was so good and brave! And she is still cavity-free!

She was also very pleased with her little cup of treats, with the new Moana toothbrush, toothpaste, floss, plus a slap bracelet and a little ring!

She then did GREAT at drop-off, with not one single issue or one single tear. It went so smoothly, and I was so very glad! Her and I each had a short day at school and work, but we will both still very glad when it was the end of the day, and time to go home! As soon as we pulled into the driveway, she wanted to go out and run around, so of course that’s exactly what we did.

After we played outside for a bit, I got started on dinner, while Jeff changed some lightbulbs around the house (to the low-wattage, energy-efficient ones) and Emmie took turns “helping” him and playing a little too. I made a “harvest chicken salad” for dinner tonight, which turned out really yummy. I forgot the fresh figs, and used romaine instead of kale, but that homemade honey Dijon vinaigrette was super delicious!

And although my food styling and presentation isn’t quite as fancy as this professional food blogger, it still tasted great!

But look how pretty her photo is though!

Emmie had a salad with just ranch and croutons, with her chicken & bacon & apples on the side. But girlfriend ending eating practically an entire apple for her dinner, plus some bread, and a few bites of salad.

We played and hung out after dinner, and had a video call with Grammy, Papa and Grandmommie. Emmie gave Pretzel lots of sweet hugs and kisses, and then we started getting her ready for bedtime.

She had plenty of ice water, and some more of her Gardetto’s for her bedtime snack.

On another random note, she has been taking one nightly pill of low-dose Asprin ever since her surgery, per doctor’s orders. We were given one prescription bottle in Jacksonville, but that just ran out & we switched to some of the over-the-counter stuff. (She’ll take it for about six months post-op.) So the prescription stuff was supposedly orange flavored, but this new one was cherry flavored. After trying it for the first time tonight, she looked up, and said, “Mmmm you picked a good medicine, Daddy!”

When Jeff was at Walgreen’s earlier, he picked up some ice cream for each of us. He got mint chocolate chip for himself, and this sea salt caramel gelato for me. And I’m super excited to dig in a little tonight! A healthy salad for dinner, followed by half a pint of ice cream for dessert! 😉

And after my ice cream, I’m going to finish painting my nails. Because full disclosure, I only painted that one thumb nail, so it would look nice for the photo, instead of my week-old chipping purple polish 😉
