Sugar Rush

Baby girl was very happy to wear her dino dress from her birthday party today, and she actually did pretty decent at drop-off. She cried a little when she had to let go of me, but shortly after, she got to love and hug Aunt Meggie & Uncle Bo and the babies, and walk them down to their classroom!

And then it looks like she had a great day at school, painting pumpkins and learning about mixing colors together, sitting so nice and pretty with all her little friends!

I got myself a cute new coffee cup in my last Walmart grocery pick-up, because I liked my matching water cup just like it so much. Took it to work this morning, and although it didn’t fit in the cupholder in my car, I still liked my new mug!

I had some more of the sausage & tortellini soup leftovers and bread for lunch, and read my Kindle book, which I actually finished today. And it was so good! Since I get pretty much all of my Kindle books from the library, I have to wait about a month for my hold to come through on the next one in the series. But I’m itching to read it already!

We all made it through the day, and Emmie was so happy to see Mommy at pick-up. We cuddled and loved on the couch for a  few minutes at home, and then I got started on our easiest, most-liked meal – taquitos, yellow rice and black beans. Emerson decided she wanted alllll of it mixed together, including the “kakitos,” and then she ate quite a bit!

And then Daddy treated her to some mint chocolate trip ice cream for dessert, which she absolutely loved and ate every single bite and every single drop. She even tipped it up to drink like it was the last of the milk from her cereal bowl. What a goofball!

We also introduced her to Robinhood on Disney+ tonight, and she didn’t want to watch it at first, but we kept pointing out all the cute animals and all the cute, funny things they did, and she started getting really into it. But then, the sugar rush hit from the ice cream, and she needed to run off some energy for a while, so she went crazy playing and running around, and we taught her how to run in place. And then we played with the beach ball, throwing it and rolling it, and bouncing it everywhere.

We finally herded her back to her bedroom to get her in her jammies and start the bedtime routine. She wanted to dress herself, and she did a pretty great job. All I had to do was twist her shirt around because she had it a little crooked, but she did so good dressing herself.

We had a quick phone call with her brothers for just a few minutes, and she showed them some of her treasures from recently, like her Moana music box and the tiny dinos she keeps safely tucked inside it.

She climbed up in bed for bedtime prayers, and she grabbed Pua and said, “Take our picture, Mommy!” Then she climbed out of bed, set up Pua by himself, and said, “And now just one of Pua by himself, Mommy. And then lemme see how cute it is!”

She did great at bedtime, and was super sweet and lovey while I rocked her and sang her lullabies. The kitchen is cleaned now and the candle is burning, and I’m ready to sit back and put my feet up for the night.
