Brunch, Thrifting, Chopsticks & Dancing

You guys – today has been a full, busy, day! I’ve also got tons of pictures, so let’s get into it!

Jeff and the girls first went out to breakfast with his parents this morning.

I spent a quick 30 minutes cleaning up the living room and kitchen and dining room as much as I could.

And then I went out to Maple Street Biscuit Company in Killearn, to meet up for a girls brunch with our Generations Connect Group. Yummy food and fun times with new friends. I ended up at a thrift store down the way with a few of them afterwards too, so that was fun browsing together. We parted ways, and I proceeded to go all over town, visiting four or five different thrift stores, and treated myself to a delicious iced chai latte from Red Eye.

Then after their breakfast, Jeff and Nana took the girls to the Tallahassee Museum. (In case you didn’t know, if you’re a Bank of America member, you get in free the first Saturday of every month!) They stayed there a couple of hours, then had lunch at Steak-n-Shake before they headed home.

We ended up all getting back to our house at the same time. We spent a little time working on the “new” puzzle I got, which was perfectly fitting for the shirt she was wearing today.

I got Emerson down for a nap (even though she protested she didn’t need one, she slept 1.5 hours), and Jeff just held Addison in the chair for her nap. While the three of them slept, I worked in Addison’s room, rotating out small clothes, and packing them up to donate, and pulling out some more hand-me-downs. At some point, Emerson got out of her bed, then curled up on the couch, and went back to sleep.

Once Emerson woke up, she took a little bath for a while by herself, with her bath bomb and her Kindle set up playing Netflix, with the bathroom lights off. (She’s still very much into that whole vibe.) Then Jeff got cleaned up and we got them both dressed up, and Jeff took Emerson to her first sweet little Daddy-Daughter Valentine’s Dance! The Rotary Club hosted it at The Moon, and it looks like it was quite the event! And of course they hung out with the triplets, who were there with their Daddy, and both granddad’s from both sides, so it was a big family event!

I had pulled out three different outfits from her closet to choose from, but she went with the simple ruffled denim skirt, because she was very concerned with the twirl factor for dancing. I think she looked simple and precious and beautiful. She was even wearing some of Mommy’s fancy perfume tonight!

While they were out at a fancy dance, Addie and I dropped off a couple boxes of tiny baby clothes for donation at Goodwill. Then we picked up our weekly grocery order from Walmart, and also picked up some take-out sushi from Mizu before coming home. I figured I’d just treat myself again, for all my hard work around the house today, and since I was just staying home with Addie Pie. And this was sooo good, as always.

She made me feed her with my chopsticks, but it got her to eat a whole lot more food!

After the dance, Jeff and Emmie went to BJ’s Brewhouse, to share a little more dinner food (there were snacks at the dance, but they were both still hungry), and then they shared a big giant triple chocolate pizookie for her last treat of the night!

After our dinner at home, I had gotten Addison in the bath tub, and then cleaned up and in some cozy jammies. Her and I watched a lot of “Bluey” waiting on them to come home, because she absolutely refused to let me hold her and try to rock her to sleep. She just had her snacks and her milk and sat on the floor in front of my feet. So once Jeff and Emmie got home, I went back to read and lay down with Emmie in my bed for a while, and Jeff rocked Addie to sleep (in about 10 quick minutes).

I was really all over the place today, and up on my feet a lot today. I was wearing tennis shoes while out running errands, and then my “fancy” sandals the rest of the day, but my feet are still tired and achy, and I’m more than ready to just sit down and put my feet up and chill!
