Books, Thai Food, Swimming & Caviar

Today is one of those very busy, very full Saturday’s that end up being so late and I’m so tired, that I don’t feel like writing too much. I also have a TON of pictures today (this is 39 of literally 130+ Jeff and I both took throughout the day), so we’ll let the pictures do most of the talking.

Started our day making blueberry muffins & Lucky Goat coffee with my helper for breakfast.

Washed a bunch of dishes, and sent Jeff and the girls to pick up our Walmart grocery order. Then we put all that away, and all went out together to do some shopping and errands. We went to a bookstore (Books-A-Million) for the first time in forever (Emerson didn’t even know what a bookstore was), and I was in heaven. I wanted to buy all the things! But I didn’t buy anything but what I went for, and it wasn’t even for myself, so that was some serious willpower. Emerson found about a million things she wanted, so we just took photos of stuff to remember for her birthday next month.

Then some shopping at Home Goods…

And a spontaneous decision to eat lunch next door at Thai Kitchen, and it was incredible delicious. Jeff and I were happy dancing we loved our food so much, and kept congratulation ourselves on our meal choices, and ate every single bite. The girls loved their kids fried rice too 🙂

I had the spicy cashew chicken, and wow it was SO good.

Jeff actually committed a huge faux pas, by starting to eat (I had taken Emmie to the bathroom & our food came out before we were back), so this is the very last of his spicy chicken noodle bowl.

Addie barely stayed awake during lunch, and was out cold within about 60 seconds once we were in the car on the way home.

Emmie napped for about 2 hours in her bed, but Addie barely napped today. I thought she might fall back asleep in this swing, but she swung here for an hour, looking exhausted, but stayed awake the whole time while Jeff and I cleaned and did chores all around her.

I did finally sit down for a break with a homemade iced coffee, a new candle lit, and the box fan on high next to me to cool down, and I listened to my audio book and did my puzzle for about 15 minutes, before Emerson woke up.

And then I took my ice coffee refill out to the pool for some pool time with the fam!

Jeff and Addie went in after about an hour (and both fell asleep rather quickly), and Emmie and I stayed out for another 30-ish minutes, and we even both washed our hair outside in the pool, then laid in the sun, before coming back inside and getting dried & dressed.

And even though we’re trying to eat out less often this summer (daycare is just SO expensive, and well, so are groceries), we let Jeff pick where he wanted to eat dinner tonight for his Father’s Day dinner, and he chose Takko Korean Taqueria.

We also let him choose a special dessert treat, so we got ice cream from Donut Kingdom on our way back home.

Before getting the girls down for bed, I made a huge batch of “cowboy caviar,” to take to my parents’ house tomorrow night for Fathers’ Day family dinner, with some help from my tiny sous chef.

Then Emmie wanted some Daddy cuddles, so I got to rock Addie to sleep. (We like to put on a YouTube video of a beautiful rushing river which always helps her fall asleep very quickly.)

I was able to lay her down easily, and she stayed sound asleep, and then I went to love on Emmie for a little bit before she fell asleep too.

I ended up writing more tonight than planned (that happens a lot), but I AM in fact exhausted, and more than ready to just sit down and do nothing for a little bit, before I inevitably fall asleep on the couch.
