Father’s Day 2022

These precious girls are so lucky to have such a sweet, silly, fun Daddy to love on them and take care of them. We are blessed! Happy Father’s Day, Daddy-rooney! (As Emmie calls him 😆) And all three looked so great before church this morning!

So a a group of the wives/women in our church played a little practical joke, and ordered the same shirt for all of our husbands for a Father’s Day gift, and got them to all wear them to church this morning. None of them knew what was happening at first, and just thought it was a coincidence. Jeff was even going around talking about the Facebook/Amazon algorithm, not yet knowing we all did it on purpose!

Addie’s little crab dress (size 6mos) was actually one of Emerson’s first birthday presents from Aunt Suzanne & Uncle Keith, that she wore during the summer of 2018. And now at 13 months, it fits Addison perfectly for the summer of 2022! So adorable!

We actually just got Culver’s drive-thru for lunch today, and took it home to eat there, so we could try to get the girls down for their nap as early as possible. And you know Addie fell asleep on the ride home, as always.

Then after we ate, Emmie went down for her nap super easily, and Jeff got Addie back to sleep as well, while I ran out for one quick errand. I got myself a $2 cold brew from Dunkin, then had some puzzle time with Emerson when I got back home.

Then once Addison woke up, we went over to my parents’ house for Father’s Day dinner and lots of pool time!

And look at this adorable little video I put together! So happy, so much fun.

We had Publix fried chicken for dinner, with the cowboy caviar I made last night, and some potato salad Meg made, with corn on the cob and warm, buttered bread, and Grandmommie made a trifle for dessert. Then Papa got to open his gifts (even though Emerson had already told him one of ours while we were out swimming), and we had lots of time just all being together.

Emerson fittingly chose to read her old “Dada” book tonight, and was really sweet at bedtime. Jeff got Addison to sleep pretty easily tonight too, and both girls are sleeping soundly.

I kinda reorganized my bookshelf yesterday, and when I went in to work on the puzzle for a few minutes tonight, it was just looking really cute. Obviously, my books are overflowing, and I really need a bigger shelf, or more shelves, but in no way is the answer to get rid of any books 😉

And now it’s time to try to get some rest, before starting a new week…
