We had a great morning at church today – I was on praise team and got to sing some great songs – and then we had family lunch at Dairy Queen afterwards. Emerson wore her new necklace and bracelet from Mommy & Daddy, and brought her new mermaid backpack from Aunt Meggie & Uncle Bo, and she was looking adorable!
Little Baby Addie-pie went to town with Grammy feeding her some tiny bites of French fries.
We had a few minutes of cuddles and loves at home, before most of us went down for a nap. These two blue-eyed beauties are my whole heart!
I slept for right at two hours (and man I really needed that today), and then found this little girl playing on her Kindle, and Addie just chillin’ in Daddy’s lap.
I was on my way to Publix for hamburger buns, when a car wreck detoured me a different way, and then I finally remembered this “new” Aldi down near us that I hadn’t ever been to before. I kept tot my tiny list of like 3 things, plus this cute little snowman melty hot cocoa thing for Emerson. I wanna go back tomorrow though, to investigate a little bit more.
In the car on the way home from church, Emerson asked if we had anything we could bake. I told her I did in fact have a couple of cookie mixes we could make, and she was all for that idea! So we made some cookies together before dinner. (Please notice she’s baking in high heels; I guess she woulda made a perfect little wife in the 1950’s!)
Then I just made a few side dishes (baked beans, green beans, Velveeta shells & cheese), and used some homemade BBQ sauce from my aunt & uncle, and the leftover pork from the other night, to make BBQ pulled pork sammies for dinner. And Addie just had herself some baby food.
This was actually Emerson’s 2nd sandwich, after she destroyed the first one, and most of her sides, and she was still hungry and wanted another one.
We had just a little bit of playtime, and watched some of “Elf,” before getting the girls ready for bed.
Growing Room is closed again tomorrow, so I took the day off work to be with the girls. Emmie and I are going to go back to Aldi together, and then Meg and I are trying to plan a park play date in the afternoon. Then we’ll go over to Jeff’s parents’ house to have Christmas with them, since they’ve been out of town these past few days.
