We had a big, fun, adventurous day, and it’s late and I’m tired, and I still need to repaint my toenails tonight before bedtime! This morning, we met up with friends for breakfast at The Bada Bean. We hadn’t seen Louis and Ashlee since before Addison was born, so it was great to hang out with them. This was also my first time eating here, and it was so good!
After breakfast, we took the girls to Tom Brown Park for Emerson to play. We let her stay out there for about an hour, but we were all dripping sweat and super thirsty, since we forgot to bring any water with us. Addie drank her bottle in the car, then fell asleep while I walked laps around the playground with her in the stroller.
After the playground, we stopped at the gas station for a few bottles of cold water, then had lunch at home, and everyone went down for a mid-day nap – all four of us slept! Addie actually slept in her swing, and she was out so quiet and still for so long, I actually went over to make sure she was still breathing at one point!
We had a little bit of afternoon playtime once we all woke up, and tried to squeeze in a few chores and loads of laundry as well.
I’m sure you’ll be surprised to hear I was craving tacos, so we went out to dinner tonight to get some. We tried a new-to-us place, Echalee, and really liked it. Their al pastor tacos (which is my usual order pretty much everywhere), were just as good as some of my other favorite places, and ranked right up there with my typical top three places.
Both girls got so sweaty today, they had a bath together tonight once we got home. Addie stared at the rubber ducky as it floated past her, so I put it on her chest, and she got very interested in it.
Emerson had a little scoop of rainbow sherbet after dinner, in a cute little turquoise flower bowl, while Jeff worked on more laundry and I fed Addison a bottle.
Addie fell asleep in Daddy’s arms while I did Emmie’s bedtime routine, then we transferred her over to her boppy. She’s actually almost outgrown this now too, and we can only leave her on it when she’s asleep, because otherwise, she’s so wiggly and she just about wiggles herself right off of it.
And speaking of her getting too big… we’re going to attempt to have her sleep in her crib in her own room tonight for the first time. She’s started trying to roll over in her sleep lately, and the tiny bassinet we’ve had her in next to our bed isn’t big enough for that, and she gets frustrated and uncomfortable and starts fussing and whining in her sleep. So, all that to say, it seems like it’s time to move her to her own crib. We’re gonna give it a go for the first time tonight, and I’m praying hard that all of us will do fine and still get good sleep!
