Appetite is Back

Today was Jeff’s turn to stay home with Addison, so that meant I was on summer-camp-drop-off duty. Emmie was so cute in her overalls again, and if you look closely, you can see her little anklet too.

Addie Pie was kind of back & forth today, sometimes saying she still didn’t feel good, and sometimes acting totally fine. But her appetite was totally back today, so I think she was probably fine. So after a quick visit to the doctor just a for a little check-up, she convinced Daddy to get her McDonalds for breakfast, and later followed that up with Chick-fil-A for lunch, and ate quite a bit of both.

And then she took a very nice, long, late-afternoon nap in her little blow-up bed on the floor (which we did finally put away tonight, and put those sheets and blankets in a pile to wash all of her sick bedding).

This morning, after Jeff got home from Addie’s quick doctor’s check-up, he got the Swedish meatballs going in the crock-pot from the recipe I sent him. So then when I got home after work, I just boiled some egg noodles, and steamed some fresh broccoli (repurposed leftovers from the baby shower), and then everything was ready.

OH and we had some of the lingonberry jam from IKEA, that they serve with their Swedish meatballs in their cafeteria. And it was at the moment I pulled that jam out of the cabinet after everything was cooked, that I remembered IKEA serves their Swedish meatballs with mashed potatoes (which is probably the more common option), not noodles, and I just kinda goofed that up… But it was still yummy!

I got a lot of work done on my puzzle last night, and I think I’ll probably be able to finish it tonight.

Addie was still hungry after dinner and bath time, so I got her a second round of meatballs (but she didn’t actually want the noodles). And then after this, I got her even more! See? Clearly her little appetite is back.

We actually specifically tried to get the girls down a little earlier for bedtime tonight. But after going through all the routines and such, we realized we had forgotten to give them their melatonin gummies, and so they were actually still wide awake and so silly. So while I’ve been writing this, both girls have just been watching yard-mowing videos with Daddy in the living room, and hopefully they’ll be ready to finally sleep soon, now that their gummies should have kicked in by now.

We had tons of leftovers from dinner tonight, so I got everything all portioned out in little containers for meals for the rest of the week. I’ll probably eat one for lunch tomorrow, and then share some with family later in the week.

I washed up a ton of dishes while dinner was cooking earlier, and then I washed up some more dishes after the girls’ bath time. So even though there are still more dirty dishes in the sink (it’s literally never-ending most weeks), I’m just gonna go carry the girls to their beds, and then finish my puzzle!
