After a LOT of days spent mostly at home, with just the four of us, we went back to school and work full-time today! Drop-off went off without a hitch, which I had been slightly nervous about, so that was a great thing.
My office was sooo cold today! My boss has a thermometer in her office, and it said it was 64 degrees in there today! That doesn’t sound that cold, but when you think about it, sitting there for 8 hours, just working on a computer at a desk, that’s pretty cold! So I ended up making myself two cups of hot tea throughout the day, just to hold something warm in my frozen fingers, and sip on hot liquid for a bit.
And the girls had a good day back at school…
When we got home tonight, Jeff and Emerson worked on finally taking down her fort she’s had for the last 10 days, so we could get back to eating on our dinner table. I for one was glad to see it go, because it was really starting to drive me nuts. Glad to have that cleared off again!
While they did that, I made Asian chicken lettuce wraps, with brown rice and a chopped Asian salad kit. I’ve made these lettuce wraps lots of times over the last year or so, but tonight was one of the best times. It was just so good! We ate every bite, with zero leftovers, unfortunately, because now there’s none left for me to bring for lunch tomorrow…
She thinks it’s hilarious when she “steals” one of our seats if we get up during dinner.
She asked for ice cream on the way home, and I told her if she was sweet and ate a good dinner, that she could have ice cream. She did great, so she got two small scoops for dessert. She wanted one of mint chip and one of vanilla, and then she “chopped & mixed” it up all together.
We had just a little bit of time to chill and hang out after dinner, before starting on the bedtime routine. Addison fell asleep super fast after her bottle, and Emerson did well with me as well.
I haven’t washed dishes yet, so I gotta go handle that before I can sit down and rest. There aren’t many dishes though, so it shouldn’t take too long. I’ve been freezing all day, so I’m ready to bundle myself up, get on some cozy socks, and watch some tv on the couch and get warmed up finally!
