10th Anniversary

Addison woke up crying around 4am this morning, so we brought her back to bed with us. And even after I got up and started getting ready, she was still totally asleep, and completely adorable, snoozing next to her Daddy.

I was a very busy bee this morning, before getting in the shower, I had already gotten dinner in the crockpot, and packed my own breakfast and lunch, all in about 5 minutes. I did all the chopping and prep-work last night for tonight’s dinner, so all I had to do was dump it out this morning, and add all the seasonings. Super quick and easy; so thanks to Heather for that night-before-tip.

And since it’s getting darker and darker in the mornings (or staying darker I guess),we did our morning pictures inside in the lamplight, with these two happy girlies.

We were also very happy to see the whole walker family at Growing Room this morning.

Love these pictures of Addie and her friends, all of whom were wearing pink for another Go Pink for breast cancer day at school.

Shared all my September reads and ratings today. Plus, a little coincidence I noticed with my two current reads.

Emerson had a great day at gymnastics, with her little friend from school.

The house smelled amazing when we got home of course, and everything was cooked perfectly and the beef was so tender. I sliced up a loaf of Italian bread, then buttered and toasted, and rubbed a clove of garlic on it after baking it. Yummmyyyy. And this was for our “fancy” at-home 10th anniversary dinner! (This slab of beef cost $20 these days, which is crazy, but it was huge, and we’ll get 5 full grown-up meals and 2 little girl meals out of it.)

We’re actually going on a little mini anniversary vacay trip to New Orleans for a Johnnyswim concert in a couple of weeks, so we’ll go out to a nice dinner just the two of us when we’re out of town then. (In related news, feel free to send any NOLA food or activity recs if you’ve been there before!) So for tonight, we just had our nice meal at home, on our nice ceramic plates we rarely use anymore, with our sweet little girlies!

The leftovers for our lunches tomorrow, plus an extra bowl too.

Only made a tiny bit more progress last night, but dang I’m getting so close. I’ll actually end up doing this whole thing pretty much completely by myself. Emerson did just  few pieces the other day, but Jeff hasn’t done any of it. And so now I kinda don’t want anyone to help me 😉

A little bit of snack time and cuddle time while we watched “Cars” for a little bit before bedtime.

This afternoon at work was pretty crazy and busy and stressful, so it was so nice to come home to our crockpot dinner, and a pretty calm and easy night together. The girls were both super tired, and so bedtime actually went really easily. I’m ready to just settle down and enjoy hanging out with my hubby for a little while before bedtime. Thankful for 10 years of marriage with my sweet hubby, and all the journeys of life we’ve been through together. Love you, Babes!
