Emmie the Baby Panda

Sweet little girl did so perfect at drop off this morning! She got her muffin, and then walked to her classroom, where she marched straight to the table to eat! No fussing or whining, and barely even a glance back! I’m so proud of her when she does that!

I had delicious pizza for my lunch today, and started a new book. This is one I got with my Mama at Costco a few months back, but I’ve had too many library books on deck to get started on any of the ones I own. But I’m excited about this one.

This time last year, Jeff and I were sailing away on our 5th anniversary cruise with Royal Caribbean. We had such a great time, and it was so nice to go on vacation for the first time in a while, and to have time with just us two. Wish we were there again now! Below is from day 1 right as we were setting sail, and then day 3, when we rode a catamaran and went swimming with stingrays in Grand Cayman! If you haven’t seen all of those posts, here are all of the cruise entries: Day 1, Day 2, Day 3, Day 4, Day 5, and Day 6.

Two years ago… I wanna squish the little fold in that tiny thigh!

Eight years ago… Beach day in October, riding bikes and basking in the sunshine at St. George Island.

And nine years ago, (no photo for this milestone) I started at my current place of employment, with the Department of Corrections. I started as a temporary clerk, and I’ve gotten a few promotions since then, and it’s turned into something much more permanent! Thankful for a steady job, and a steady paycheck!

Happy girl at school today!

Jeff finished up early again with his training thing, so he was able to pick up Emerson today. I was able to go straight home after work, and we all got home right around the same time. Once again, Jeff and Emmie played and hung out and did “chores,” while I made us dinner. They also watched a few minutes of tv, and Jeff claims this Lego Star Wars show wad her choice. He’s hoping he can raise her up in his nerdy ways! (He converted me when we first started dating with stuff like Star Wars & Lord of the Rings, so there’s definitely a chance for her.)

I used a new “recipe” tonight (I put it in quotes because it’s just sammiches, so it feels funny to call it a recipe, but I guess that really is what it is, especially since this is not something I would have ever thought of on my own…), for baked ham & cheese croissants. And man were they yummy! They’re even toddler-appoved! I forgot to plan what we would actually eat with the sandwiches, so I just grabbed a side of white cheddar mac & cheese, and a can of green beans from the cabinet.

She’s very intense about prayer time…

But she loved dinner, and ate really well tonight!

We played for a bit after dinner, and did a video call with Grammy, Papa & Grandmommie. We also watched “Jesus Loves Me” & cat videos on YouTube. Then we did a quick bath time, and then she emerged as Emmie the Baby Panda! She loved it too!

She needed lots of extra snuggles and loves and cuddles tonight, so it took two rounds of lullabies, some back scratches, and Mommy singing “Jesus Loves Me” about five times. And as I finished one of the “Jesus Loves Me” rounds, she was saying something I couldn’t quite understand, but finally recognized “I kiss Mommy.” She just wanted one more hug and kiss and love! She’s so incredibly sweet.

Since it took so long for me to get her down tonight, Jeff washed the dishes for me, while I was with Emmie. So now I get to just sit down and chill!
