Wild Berry

It was a cold, slow, tired morning, but we did eventually get moving and off to school and work. Addie Pie was cute as a button, and so was Emmie Girl too, of course. But we didn’t get any good pics of Emmie, because someone set off the fire alarm at Gilchrist with burnt popcorn at 8am, so she was getting out of the car as that was going off and literally went straight into fire drill mode…

We got lots of good pics of Addie at school, clearly having a great day.

We did a super simple dinner tonight with pantry & fridge items we already had on hand, of grilled cheese and tomato soup (for the girls and me) and potato soup (for Jeff). And this tomato & sweet basil soup from Aldi is literally the best tomato soup I’ve ever had. So creamy and sweet, and I loved every bite of it.

After dinner, I had to run out to Walmart to pick up a bare-bones grocery order that I placed this morning. The girls and I actually tried to pick it up before coming home earlier, but all 12 normal spots were full, and then there were like 6 or 7 of us other cars in the wings, and I knew it was going to take wayyy too long, so we left. But the it went super quick and easy when I went back after dinner, so that was nice.

Back at home, the girls made a pallet in the dining room…

And eventually they moved it to the living room once they got their jammies on, and looked so stinking cute when I got back home and found them like this.

I had signed up to bring muffins for Addison’s Valentine’s party tomorrow, and I planned to make them last weekend, but then we were too busy. So after getting these little bagged mixes in my order tonight, I mixed up two packs and popped them in the oven. Then Emerson and I worked on the actual Valentines’ for both girls to take to school tomorrow, while the muffins were baking. (I saved two muffin packs to make for my tea party this weekend.)

Emmie and I read another chapter of the junior version of Dr. Doolittle tonight, while she wore my nightgown and told me she was a queen wearing her cape, and said that she was doing a queen wave and a queen smile.

And these little cuties were sound asleep together as usual once I finished up with Emerson’s bedtime routine.

I’ve woken Jeff up, and we’ve got some cleaning and such that needs to be taken care of tonight before we can settle down and get some rest. But hopefully I’ll be able to be productive and get a good amount of stuff done.
