White Pizza Pie

With the “groovy” theme at Gilchrist this year, this shirt Grammy found when we went school shopping (before even knowing the theme), was just so perfect! They both looked cute in their little denim shorts, and coordinating orange and yellow, ready for Friday!

Addison did great at drop-off today, and although Jeff didn’t get any photos off Emerson at school today, he said she did good today too.

No pictures throughout the day, so we’ll just jump straight to after-work stuff. I got both girls, then made a quick stop at home to get Jeff. Then we made a quick Walmart run, and picked up the pizza we ordered from Solle’s. I’ve seen so many rave reviews for them over the last couple of years, but just never made it there to try it. Tonight, we ordered the small white pie and a small 5-topping pie (with pepperoni, ham, green bell peppers, onions, and mushrooms on half), with a side order of garlic cheese bread. And everything was so stinking good!

I ended up adding basil, garlic salt, olive oil & honey to my white pie, and it made a delicious pizza even more amazing. I couldn’t get enough of it that way! There’s only one piece of that one left…

Addison loved everything we gave her (she ate 1 piece of each pizza, and a piece of cheese bread, and did a happy little pizza dance while she ate), and then played peek-a-boo with her plate after she cleaned it all off.

Emmie was feeling a little under the weather, and asked for some hot tea after dinner, while she cuddled up watching tv.

And then when it was time for bed, she pulled out her binder from her backpack, and was like, “Oh Mommy for homework, I’m supposed to read this two times.” So I thought she meant I had to read something to her. But then she BLEW us away, when she sat down and started reading this little booklet, all on her own! She read the whole thing! She was like, “Oh I just know a few sight words, it’s not really reading.” And I was like, “No Baby, you’re READING! That’s what reading is!” I videoed her doing it the second time, but she’s so shy, she didn’t want me to share it with anyone. I asked if that included the blog, but she still said no. But maybe one day I can get a video of it to share eventually…

Then by bedtime, even though she had been feeling down earlier, she had perked way up and was acting like her usual silly self.

Jeff got Addison to sleep easily, and Emerson was really sleepy too, so everyone went down pretty quickly.

I’m ready to just plop down on the couch and watch a movie or something, and turn my brain off after a crazy, stressful, chaotic week…
