She still loves this cool chalk art and loves to check it out every morning and afternoon. Also, she was the one to choose her shoes both yesterday and today, and she did a pretty good job 🙂
I posted this on Instagram today, from our trip to Missouri last month… “Just thinking back on times when we could do stuff and go places and see friends and hug family… (And since it’s hard to see, she has R2-D2 & C-3PO on her shirt, and it says “besties.”)”
Still going strong drinking my Emergen-C every day, since I’m also still going into the office every single day. There’s a potential work laptop on the horizon, so of course by the time I finally get it, everyone else will most likely be heading back to work!
Little sweetie pie girl had another good day at school, with a good nap, and all the potty trips and no accidents or diapers. I’m honestly so proud for how well she does at school. Now if only we could get her to do it at home!
We had breakfast for dinner tonight, and I made homemade, from-scratch waffles, for the first time! A boxed mix is super easy, but I didn’t realize it was just as easy to make them from scratch! I used this recipe from Everyday Reading, and they were sooo good.
Her recipe says to let the batter rest for 30 minutes, so we went outside to hang out in the hammock for a while, and she was so sweet and cuddly and it felt so nice outside.
When we heading back inside, we picked up a few packages that had been delivered, with Emerson’s name on them! She was super excited to open them! Turns out, Grammy ordered her some potty training supplies for a surprise – a potty watch, some training undies, and a potty chart. So cute!
You guys. Look at these waffles!
Again, here’s the recipe link, because these bad boys were delish. I used coconut oil in place of canola oil, and a little extra vanilla extract, and they were so yummmyyyy.
And of course y’all know we ate out back on the patio. The weather has been so delightful these last few days, and we’ve gotten such good use out of our back patio furniture. (Tomorrow will probably be another story, with the terrible forecast in store.)
She sat down on the potty a couple of times after dinner, but still wouldn’t pee. So we got the bath ready, and threw her in, and after standing there for about 3 seconds, she peed in the tub… womp womp womp.
But we got her bathed and cleaned up anyways, and then got ready for bed.
She was a sweet, cuddly, sleepy girl, and bedtime was super easy. I just decided to skip doing the dishes tonight, since we rinsed the mixing bowl and plates earlier, and that’s basically all there was… So that’ll just be waiting for me tomorrow night, and I’m fine with that. For now, I’m feeling pretty tired, so I think I’ll try to go to bed a little early tonight.
Oh and one a last random note, have y’all noticed how much I love alliterations? Like “taquito Tuesday” and “Wednesday waffles.” I do it in my blog titles a lot, so I just wanted to point it out, so you can appreciate it with me. Actually, my old blog was called “Penguins, Pasta & Polka Dots,” and every single blog post title started with a P. It was really out of control actually. I had over 500 blog posts, and I never even used the same word twice! (With the exception of a few.) Back towards the beginning of that blog, my parents and I spent almost an entire weekend making a list of any and all “P” words we could think of, and I kept the list on my phone and crossed them off as I used them. (I know, my crazy is showing…) But I had tons of people never even notice it, until I pointed it out! So yeah, just wanted to share this part of my Enneagram Type 1 personality 😉
