Jean Jacket

We had a little extra time on our hands this morning, so Daddy got Emerson a bowl of “cunch cunch” and milk, and she thoroughly enjoyed eating that for her first breakfast. (And then she had second breakfast at school, like the tiny Hobbit she is.)

She’s still loving this chalk art in front of the school, and every morning and afternoon makes a comment about how the big kids made it.

Today’s round of Emergen-C was also accompanied by a mug of hot Earl Gray tea. Because today’s rainy weather just felt like an Earl Gray kind of day, did it not?

Emerson’s teachers sent us some great photos today! And so many of them!

I don’t know who this little jean jacket actually belongs to (it’s not hers), but she does look adorable in it! I guess she must have gotten a little chilly on the playground this morning, so they found that for her to wear. And I love it!

I also love getting to actually see her do the little craft projects. She always brings them home, but I love seeing a picture of her actually doing it herself!

Look at this adorable braid Miss Jessica did for her today. It’ actually her very first braid, and I loved it so much!!

We had a few things we needed to pick-up-from and also bring-back-to Nana (Jeff’s mom), so she cooked a pan of chicken and rice casserole and we went over to their house for a quick dinner before heading on home to our house.

Around 6:30/6:45, Tallahassee was in a tornado warning. What’s crazy is that the tornado started near Ox Bottom/Bradfordville (near my parents), then hopped over to Killearn Estates (near my aunt & uncle) and then hopped again towards Proctor/Crump Road (near Megan & Bo), so it was all over the place, and all near my family!

Luckily, it wasn’t near my in-laws house at all, which was great since we we didn’t know how bad it was… We actually weren’t paying much attention (I mean, we knew it was stormy with thunder & lightning, but not so much about the tornado’s), we didn’t realize how bad the weather actually was. We were in the middle of making no-bake cookies, when most of Tallahassee was all hunkered down and hiding from the tornado’s!

She will sit here and count to 20 (very impressive! she only messes up around 15 & 16), but she will not sit here and pee! Crazy girl…

We drove home during a break in the storms and immediately Emerson ready for bedtime. She needed a snack, of course, so she had a few bites of Chex Mix while we read the Easter story (she still loves reading that one lately), before finally settling down for the night.

She was asking me, “you wanna piece of bedstick one?”

I’m super thankful that all my family was safe tonight (even though Megan & Bo lost power in the storms), and especially us, since we were slightly oblivious!
