Jeff got our new coffee pot set up, and ran a test batch through the pot with just plain water, before making us a regular pot of coffee for work this morning.
This little cutie, who is always pretty in pink, was very excited to find pockets in her little dress this morning.
And very excited to get the banana muffin she said she wanted.
I had last night’s leftover chicken over rice & black beans, and of course I took all my good toppings with me, including a while avocado and a knife to slice it open. And then I spent the rest of my lunch reading.
After work, I threw a frozen pizza in the oven really quickly, and then we went outside to read while the pizza baked. One of my favorite bloggers, Janssen at Everyday Reading is hosting the spring version of the #5by5readingchallenge, and we’re joining in again this year, like we did last year. It’s just a challenge to read five picture books for five days in a row, but it feels so magical and intentional. And I love it!
After I read a few books, she picked up this “I love you, Daddy” and started “reading” it to us, and it was the cutest thing I’ve ever seen. She would just turn the page, and say, “I love you, Daddy,” over and over again with each new page. Our hearts both melted listening to her read this book.
She did a few stickers while I got the pizza (for us) and mac & cheese (for her), all ready to go for dinner. We all ate together and our girl was super silly, but I didn’t even take a photo at dinner. And then we went back outside for more books and play time!
Emerson has actually been asking me where these watermelon sunglasses from Ms. Q were recently, and we randomly found them in her toy basket tonight. She was super pumped about them, and they match our outdoor watermelon blanket!
OK so this little succulent was purchased like, a year and a half ago, and it started out with a few other little guys in there. But I’m terrible at plants (I literally kill even succulents), so after a few of the plants died, I just put it out on the back patio table, and kind of forgot about it. But I’ve been noticing it these last few days, and this one little purple guy is doing SO good! I’m so proud of this little fighter! Haha 🙂
Emerson needed a little snack before bedtime, so she had a couple of chocolate-covered almonds, and she was drooling chocolate drool while she was eating. She just looked so funny!
She was a good girl at bedtime, and only caused a few issues and only tried a few of her usual stall tactics. After getting her laid down, I washed up all of last night’s dishes while listening to a new audio book, and got out a whole new set of Mrs. Meyer’s scented soaps for spring time, rather than the wintery ones I still had. This is the “compassion flower” scent that I got in one of my Grove boxes a while back, and it’s certainly flowery, but it smells so good!
We leave on Wednesday for our road trip to Missouri for my cousins wedding, and even though I planned to do some packing tonight, I’m too tired for that now. So I’m just going to make my packing list tonight instead and do all the packing tomorrow. I need some rest now!
