Watercolor & Mancala

This morning was my first Sunday on the praise team at Generations. We sang great songs, and I loved being a part of the team and doing something new. I was only a little nervous when the service started, but I did great (if I do say so myself), and we had a powerful service today. (Also, of course I had to get myself a hot caramel latte before church.)

Emmie was still under the weather, so Jeff took her to get swabbed & tested for all the things at Urgent Care this morning. And despite how sick she appears in this photo with those sleepy eyes above her mask, she was actually doing much better throughout today than she was yesterday.

Since Jeff was with Emerson this morning, Meg helped me get Addie and all of our bags and things to the car after church, so that I could give her those books I set out for her to borrow.

We got Guthrie’s for lunch (we all got back home right within 1 minute of each other), and then everyone went down for naptime, for about two hours.

Had to get that new record on the record player today, and it was so fun, and looks so beautiful! It just fits the vibes of this part of our house so well, and I love it so much!

And completely unplanned, but the “tea time” lyric lines up perfectly with the shot of my tea pot collection, and I’m low-key very proud of that edit 😉

Tonight was our connect group with GC, but with Emmie not feeling well, her and I stayed home, and we let Jeff and Addie go out to dinner. Well, Jeff went to dinner, and Addie went to church for childcare. But Emmie and I had another lovely afternoon/evening together, in the hammock, painting, and playing mancala together. I was obsessed with this game as a child, and I taught her tonight for the first time.

After about 30 minutes, she kicked me out so that she could lay in it by herself, but that only lasted like 3 minutes, before she was running over to me in the grass and wanting to hang out with me again.

I had made Emmie a sandwich and chips for dinner, but I asked Jeff to bring me a sushi roll from Nagoya (where our connect group met for dinner), and that was delicious, but I should have ordered two, because this one wasn’t as big as I was expecting, as it was only 5 pieces, and I still wanted more!

These little goofballs ran around playing together for a while before bedtime, laughing and giggling and being the cutest girls ever.

I washed up some dishes earlier, but there are more, so I’m going to go work on that a little bit longer, before settling down to get some Sunday night rest.
