Emmie was looking cute, cozy & sporty in a new jogger sweatsuit this morning. Addie just wanted to re-wear yesterday’s outfit again, and that was not a battle I wanted to fight, so even though there was a small water stain on her shirt, we just went with it!
We also saw the triplets again, and everyone loved on her and hugged her and picked her up the whole walk inside. I also got some baby Hayden cuddles, and he was just the warmest, snuggliest little boy, especially in his cozy little outfit.
Jeff took Emmie to gymnastics this afternoon, so when I got off work, I went straight to Little Caesar’s to pick up my online order from the pizza portal.
But no sooner did I pick up the pizza, than Jeff was calling me after gymnastics saying Emerson had a really rough time there today, was feeling awful, and was actually crying she felt so bad. So he immediately got her an appointment at CHP Urgent Care for 5:30, and picked up Addie on the way. I re-routed myself and instead of going home with the pizza, I went up there to meet them.
We’ve actually all been a little under the weather this week, but it finally got much worse for both Jeff and Emmie today, so both of them were seen tonight. Turns out, Emmie has double ear infections, and Jeff has a sinus infection and “walking” or “atypical” pneumonia. Just what we needed to cap off this chaotic week, huh!? (The doctor was helping the baby cheetah zip up her jacket.)
So I got everyone back to the house, re-warmed up all the pizza, and made some hot tea for Jeff and Emmie. Emmie actually also drank some warmed up chicken broth, because she wasn’t sure she was ready to eat real food, and she actually really liked that. But then she also ate a bread-stick too.
After I got all of them fed and hydrated, I went back out to drive across town to pick up the prescriptions from the one Publix who could fill them immediately tonight before they closed. I did successfully get all the meds and made it back home to find everyone still awake, so I administered all the prescriptions to my patients. Emerson wanted Mommy cuddles in my bed, so I laid down with her, but all it took was a quick prayer and lullaby, and my poor pitiful girl was sound asleep.
Addie and I have been a little congested this week, but really not bad at all, and we’re definitely in better shape than the other two. So tonight, she was wide awake at 10pm, and Needed to lay down in our bed too, just to get her to fall asleep.
OK lastly, I finished watching “Lessons in Chemistry” on AppleTV while writing this, and it was so good! Even if you haven’t read the book, you should watch the show.
