Today was my turn to serve in GC Kids, so I grabbed Dunkin on my way and went in early. I had laid out dresses for the girls, and Jeff got them dressed and they all came at the regular time. It was flooding when they got there, but luckily they were prepared with their own umbrellas and rain boots!
Aside from doing all the chaotic check-in duties before service, I also do the Instagram & Facebook stories on the GC Kids page. It’s fun to take videos and photos and share what we learn during kids church. Well, my little mini-me brought her own phone and was also taking pics and videos during the game time, just so cute and adorable.
We went to Burger King for lunch after church because we had seen some commercials about their 2 for $5 deals and 3 for $7 or whatever it was. As we were standing there figuring it out, the lady working had taken food to a car outside and when she walked by, she was like, “Do your babies like burgers? Do y’all like Whoppers? OK come with me.” Then she took us to the cash register, and just rang out all of our food for free, with fries and drinks and everything! We were blown away by her generosity. Such an unexpected blessing and surprise today!
Of course after lunch was nap time for Addie, and me too even, since I tried to read my book but literally couldn’t even hold my eyes open to make it through half a page. So obviously I needed a big tall teddy graham iced latte when I woke up from my little nap.
We took about a 30-minute clean-up break in the living room and kitchen once we were all awake, and then headed back to church for dinner and Connect Groups. Tonight we had Swedish meatballs, which is my favorite of our church night dinners. I also got a to-go box so I get to eat it again for lunch tomorrow too.
The girls were very tired and worn out after a busy night playing at church, so bedtime actually went pretty quick and easy for both of them.
..
Time to rest and relax, and maybe read, and maybe color, before bed time…
