Two Parties in One Day

This adorable little one woke up at 6:30 today. And while mommy was definitely still tired and wishing I could have slept for another hour or so, these early mornings are so sweet together, I don’t mind it so much 😊

Putting on slippers and robe…

Riding her bicycle…

Doing magic spells…

Using her “vacuum cleaner”…

Sniffing a candle…

All before we even had breakfast!

Then we went to a birthday party! One of my good friends from high school, Natalie, had a little girl only a few weeks after I had Emerson. They currently live in Savannah, so we don’t get to see them very much, but they came in town this weekend for her daughter’s second birthday party. They set up some fun toddler water toys in the front yard, and all the little ones had a great time running around together!

This is Charlie Anne, the birthday girl!

Emerson had nap time as soon as we got home, and slept for about an hour and a half. I also fell asleep on the couch for about an hour during that time, and actually had a good nap. Then Jeff left to go get the boys after spending the night in the day with his parents, while Emerson and I played around the house for a little bit. This little remote controlled robot was one of her birthday toys, and she had lots of fun playing with it today.

And then we went to our second party of the day. our Sunday school teachers hosted a pool party and cookout for our class and all of our families (36 humans, and 1 dog), and we had so much fun together! Our hosts Sean & Angie provided and grilled hamburgers and hot dogs, and then we all provided everything else (sides {like my broccoli salad}, buns, drinks, condiments, & desserts). It was delicious, and super fun!

The three boys all took fast showers once we got home, while I did Emmie’s bedtime routine. We read 1.5 books, sang 3 lullabies, and then she was ready to lay down. Easy peasy tonight, after such a big, exhausting day!

We are all just absolutely beat, so we’re going to watch just one episode of “Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee,” and then make everyone go to bed early. (Jeff and I have watched all the previous episodes, but just noticed new ones were added, so we’re gonna watch the new ones with the boys. Hope they like it!)

Oh, and since yesterday’s blog was written today, click here to check it out if you missed it.
