Tunacado Attempt #1

Emerson was up by like 6:15am, and Addison wasn’t too far behind her around 6:20am, so it was obviously a very early morning. By the time I was finally feeling up to cooking around 8am, I made egg sandwiches for the others, and egg-in-the-hole for myself.

We lazed about for a while, and eventually Jeff and Addie picked up our grocery order. We made another long to-do list for ourselves for the weekend, and slowly chipped away at it most of the day. We filled up one whole diaper box of cups and bottles to donate, and a second diaper box of old tshirts and clothes.

The girls were playing a classic game of “the floor is lava.”

We had some hot dogs for lunch, and then the girls both napped for a while, and I took a little reading & coffee break to finish my book. (Coincidentally, finishing my book was on the to-do list, so that was convenient.) Then Jeff and I both continued working on our to-do list, with our own chores. He did laundry, and I did dishes, and then I

Then eventually it was time for dinner. So for the “tunacado” sandwich, in addition to the slightly jazzed up tuna salad recipe with the fresh herbs and such, you also spread a layer of pesto on the bread, then add sliced avocado and sliced tomato. I was heartbroken and so freaking frustrated when I realized my avocado wasn’t ripe and was hard as a rock and didn’t have any good flavor. (I actually had one of those bags of 5, and all were hard, so I’ll save the rest of the tuna, and try again in a few days.) The sandwich was still delicious though, and I loved the tuna itself.

After dinner, I got a load of my dresses out of the washing machine, and hung up in the back bathroom to air-dry. Then I got the girls in the bath tub, and I don’t even remember what Jeff was doing during that time…

By 7pm, we had crossed off about half the things on our to-do list, and we still accomplished a few more after this too. And even though I spent 30 minutes this afternoon washing dishes, we had sooo many dirty dishes, that I couldn’t finish them all, because I literally ran out of counter-space to stack the clean stuff. So I’ll have to do another round tomorrow, while we keep working at this list.

While I was playing with the girls after their bath, Jeff got showered too, and re-made the bed after laundering everything. So then we crossed that off the to-do list too.

Addie fell asleep very quickly and easily with Jeff rocking her, and Emmie was being so super sweet and lovey while we did her bedtime routine. I’ve got 20 minutes left of my “Daisy Jones” episode, so I’m going to paint my nails, and then cross that off my list too.
