The Laziest Saturday

Tater Tot woke up around 6am, ready to get going for the day, so we headed to the living room to cuddle on the couch and watch Frozen II. She sat still with me for a while (and I dozed on & off), then she grabbed her lunch box can filter full of snacks, and proceeded to eat a granola bar. I was mostly awake for the second half of the movie, and actually cried a little bit towards the end of the movie, so I was all emotional and worked up crying over a movie at 8:00 a.m. like a crazy person!

Around 9:00 a.m., Jeff volunteered to go pick up Whataburger for breakfast, so Emerson Road with him while I napped on the couch a little bit more, since I had been awake for so long at that point.

We spent some time playing in Emerson’s room this morning, just hanging out and playing, and not really doing too much else.

She loves to try to dress herself these days, but she doesn’t quite have the hang of it yet. So I will usually try to hand her the clothes facing the right direction, so that she can get it on easier, but she still gets all twisted up sometimes.

We went to get our Walmart grocery pickup order, and also had to go inside for a couple things like light bulbs, and then came back home to put away all the groceries and Jeff made Emerson a PB&j, cut up into the smallest little pieces 😆

Emerson went down for her nap after lunch time, and I ended up falling asleep again for a little while too. Jeff was feeling productive especially since the weather was so nice, so he decided to go out and mow the yard. After Emerson woke up, we went out to watch him for a little while in the backyard, and then once he finished, we stayed outside playing for a long time.

By the time Jeff finally got showered and dressed, So it was almost 6:00 p.m. and dinner time! We put in a to go order from Super Perros for some Colombian takeout, and he went to pick it up while Emerson made me a taco filled with eyeball stickers 😝 She also helped me put away some more of the produce that we had left out on the counter earlier. This is one of her new favorite things to help with, since she gets to stand up on top of the counter and put stuff in a little basket.

Dinner tonight was absolutely delicious, but I was way too stuffed to even eat all of it! Jeff of course found the room though to eat every bite of his meal, but he had actually skipped lunch, and then done all that yard work, so he was definitely super hungry for this amazing meal. It may look simple, but it’s so stinking good!

We let her stay up late watching some TV and Daddy’s lap, and then had a Nice video chat with Nana. We finally got her calmed down and started on the bed time routine, only for her to need to go run and get another snack. Which of course we were not surprised about! She sat sweetly munching on her snacks and listening to her stories, and then even though she told me multiple times she wasn’t tired, I’m pretty sure she fell asleep within one minute of me leaving her room after a lullabies!

I did wash some dishes this afternoon sometime, and Jeff was definitely productive with all the laundry and yard work he did. But other than those dishes, this was the laziest Saturday for me! I can’t even remember the last time I didn’t leave the house, or work myself into exhaustion doing chores. So this was actually super indulgent, but I didn’t feel one bit guilty, because everyone deserves a day of rest!
