OK, it’s already past 10pm, and it’s been a long day, and I might try to stay up until midnight, but I don’t feel like sitting here at the computer for a long time. So let’s dump all the photos, and write very little…. Everyone loved Shipley’s donuts this morning, just like we knew they would.
Jeff and Ryan went back to finish up that job they had been working on, and Gabe stayed home to help me out with the girls and the chores around the house.
The girls had lunch, and then Addie had a nap, and I did mani/pedi’s for Emmie and myself.
Her blue eyes actually looked green sitting here by the window, in her pretty sage-green shirt.
Emmie finally went IN the house today, since Addie went in first 🙂
But I really loved their little coordinated outfits today, especially Addie’s tiny hoodie, and Emmie’s cute shirt.
After Addie woke up, we all headed over to Nana & PopPop’s house for playtime and dinner time together.
Nana put together a big ole charcuterie table, plus some pizza and BBQ lil smokies, and it was a really good spread for an early dinner. (And Gabe and I didn’t eat lunch, so we were very happy we ate early.)
The girls had a bath after dinner, and both put on new, clean jammies after. There was movie time, and cuddling, and a little bit of puzzle time too.
We stayed over a little later than usual, and Addie fell asleep on the way home. But then she got a second wind and ran around the house for a while, until she was finally ready to take her new light-up stuffed sheep (that I named Lambchop) and head to bed.
Emerson asked to do some of the leftover sparklers we still had from July 4th, so we did a few of those out in the driveway, just me and her, at like 9:30, but it made her feel special, even if she’s not staying up till midnight.
And one more random thing, in years past, I shared long blog posts of all my favorite books at the end of the year. Taking the easier route this time though, with this cute little collage of 12 of my fave 5-star reads from 2022, out of the 79 I read (down from my typical 100). I probably could have done a top 20 though, because a few good ones were left out. Also, it appears I veered more towards the rom-com style books this year, instead of my usual sci-fi/fantasy/historical fiction. What were some of your faves this last year?! I love talking about books, so please share!
2022 was full of ups & downs, but mostly it was good to us. We’re ready for 2023 though, so bring it on!
