4th Annual Low Country Boil

I was at church this morning bright and early (or foggy & early at least) at 8am for praise team rehearsal. Then I ran back home to get the girls loaded up in my car, so that Jeff could load up the boys in his car, and get ourselves to church! Emmie picked out these outfits for them to wear together, and good grief they looked so stinking adorable!

You know I can’t resist saying these girls are the apple of my eye!

We had a great morning at church – great worship and a great message – and then the boys picked Moe’s for lunch.

Gabe was carrying Emerson around like a little spider monkey, attached to his leg.

After lunch, Addison got her light-up sheep, and just marched back to her bedroom, where she literally tried to climb into her crib for naptime. Then all the rest of us laid down to nap too, and good grief did I ever need it.

Then we went out to Grammy & Papa’s house, for our 4th annual New Year’s Day low country boil. Megan and Bo usually host this meal for us every year (click here for 2020; 2021; and 2022), but since we had the boys here, and my cousin Aaron & his wife Mandy, we moved it to my parents’ house, since it’s bigger. And we had such a great meal, and even better family time! And we all loved getting to meet baby Asher, who’s only 4 months old!

Love seeing my “little” cousin become a Dad, holding his sweet sleeping baby boy!

When we got home, Gabe wanted to help out with Addison. So not only did he hold her for a while, he also took her to her room when it was time, and held her for a few more minutes, swaying and calming her down and scratching her back. He did a great job being so sweet and getting her to sleep.

Emmie was super sweet and sleepy, so her and I had a really easy bedtime routine together, and she was out really quickly. I’m exhausted once again, and ready to just settle down and get some rest now.

But first, please enjoy this fun video mash-up, of one second every day from August through December. Emerson is the one that got me back into doing this again, after quitting for like a year and a half, and I’m so glad we started this again. Can’t wait to do it every day in 2023!
