Thanksgiving 2022

After a very long, full day (in more ways than one), we have lots of photos. We have so much to be thankful for, and all of these family members we spent today with are at the top of that list!

Four generations!

Grandmommie with her 5 great-granddaughters. (Maybe next year Mandy, Aaron & baby Asher can come!?)

My contribution this year was this Pioneer Woman recipe I saw a few months back, and had been dying to try, and was just waiting for the perfect opportunity. So I made this olive cheese bread for our appetizer. It was so super delicious, and everyone loved it!

Meg made maple bacon brussles, Papa did a perfectly deep-fried turkey, Grandmommie made her famous angel biscuits (my personal fave) and then Uncle Keith and Mama took care of pretty much everything else!

We had a little outside play time after a delicious lunch, and then the triplets all took a nap. Emerson laid down with Grandmommie, but she never actually fell asleep. Addie Pie fell asleep with Papa, looking absolutely adorable.

Quick Facetime with Aaron, Mandy and baby Asher.

I got to sit out on the back porch with all the grownups for coffee & dessert time, and it was lovely and quiet with all the girls asleep 🙂

We had a little more playtime once all the girls woke up, and they all had some cookies and snacks (“Mayflower Munch” that Grammy made), before it was time to go.

We made a quick run by our house to check on Pretzel, and then we went over to Jeff’s parents house for Thanksgiving round two. Nana put together an entire Thanksgiving meal all on her own, and I just barely helped her finish everything up when we got there.

But check out these enormous rolls she made! They were sooo good too.

Nana had gotten the girls some new Christmas jammies, and of course when she showed them to them, they both wanted to put them on immediately. And of course they looked adorable!

We played a couple rounds of hide & seek before dessert, which we took out onto the back porch. Nana even remembered that I like more cool whip than pie, and really loaded me up 😉

Then we stayed a little later than we should have, because we were having too much fun teaching Emerson to play dominoes. I hadn’t played in years, so Nana had to remind me of most of the little details/rules, but it was so much fun! We ended up having to cut it short when Addison was having a meltdown because she was so tired, but we Emmie was doing so well, and we I was loving it! (I absolutely love playing games like this, and just don’t get to do it very often anymore these days.)

Both girls were out like a light once we got home, and I think I hear Jeff snoring in the living room now too. It’s past 10pm now by the time I’m finally finishing this though, so I’m sure I’ll be out like a light soon myself too.
