Gallery Wall

I keep having to remind myself that today is “only” Friday, since we’ve had roughly 3 Saturday’s in a row… But we had another great day today! Very laid back and not too hectic, and that was really nice. We all had something different for breakfast (cleaning up the last of this weeks groceries), and I did the egg-in-a-bagel-hole thing again today, but I did it at a lower temp for a few minutes less than last time, and it turned out way better.

This runny-ness of the egg is what I wanted last time but didn’t get. I think even one less minute in the toaster oven next time, and it will be perfect. The green onions as topping worked really well too.

Lots of love for her baby puppy.

Watching Daddy on one of his ADHD-cleaning-kicks, vacuuming and dusting/cleaning all the fans in the literally whole house.

Then sisters sharing stickers with each other.

For our second ADHD-productivity kick of the morning, was to work more on the gallery wall on the worlds longest wall in our hallway. After 6+ years of living in this house, we figured it was finally time! 😉

My sweet little helper volunteered to Swiffer for me, after we cleaned up all the toys and little girls’ laundry from the hallway. Then Jeff headed out to drop off Pretzel at the vet, because we believed he was having an allergic reaction to something, and having some severely itchy skin and issues.

Addie had been super fussy all morning, and we were pushing it to make it to lunch time so we could make it to her regular nap time. We did eventually make it, but it was rough. I asked Emmie if she wanted me to make “noodle rice” for lunch (which is just the Knorr mixed rice & pasta packets), and she sweetly said, “I’m sure whatever you make will be good, Mommy.” And both girls tore up the rice for lunch!

And then Addison fell asleep in a heartbeat after she finished eating and I got her cleaned up. I also got Emerson laid down for a nap just a few minutes later.

I asked Jeff to bring home lunch for him and I after dropping off Pretzel, and he told me to queue up a Christmas movie to watch together. So we ate our chicken sammies and watched the new Lindsey Lohan movie on Netflix, “Falling for Christmas,” which was cute and cheesy and made us giggle.

Emmie napped for about 2 hours, and Addie napped for about 3 hours! We got the girls dressed, and packed up a bag for Emerson, and then went back over to Grammy & Papa’s house. Meg & Bo went to the FSU game tonight with Bo’s brother who’s in town from out-of-state, so Grammy offered for Emmie to join the triplets at their sleepover as well.

We didn’t stay long, since we had to go pick up Pretzel, who was done at the vet and ready to go home, with an oral antibiotic we have to give him twice a day for the next week. (Please send your thoughts and prayers about that, because he is impossible when it comes to meds…) Addie had fallen asleep in the car on the way there, and she was so sweet and cuddly while we waited inside.

As soon as we got back home, I started working on our dinner. I’d made this recipe for Cincinnati Chili once before, but it was actually three years ago. My old college roommate was from Cincinnati, and made us this once when we lived together, and this is the recipe her family always used. (I don’t actually boil the ground beef, because that sounds gross – I just sautéed it like I do with every other ground meat recipe…)

It turned out really good, and I liked it a lot, but Jeff wasn’t a huge fan of it, and he said it was too spicy for him. Addie loved her butter noodles and oyster crackers though, and even learned to say the word “cracker” tonight for the first time.

We finished hanging up the last few photos in the hallway that we didn’t have time to finish this morning, and it looks so good! Only took us 6 years and 3 months, but it’s finally done and we love it already. Just have to print one 5×7 photo (for the frame Jeff’s hanging in the picture below), and then it’ll be officially completed.

That picture of my Granddaddy (who passed away six years ago, unfortunately the same week we moved into this house) with all five of his great-granddaughters he never got to meet, was hand-drawn by one of Megan’s friends. Megan and I gifted the photo to Mama & Grandmommie for Christmas last year, and made copies for ourselves. I’ve been keeping mine safe for the past 11 months, and I’m so glad we finally got it framed and hung!

The framed art that says “I love you from here to Cancun” was a wedding present from a friend, because Jeff and I went to Cancun on our honeymoon in 2013.

And these beautiful prints show the night sky the day each of the girls’ were born, including a special Bible verse for both of them. These were also gifted from a family friend, and I think these are so special. These are hanging in the hallway between both of the girls’ rooms, and I love them.

Once we finally finished the hallway, and I got all the leftovers packaged up and rinsed out my Dutch oven, while Jeff got Addie’s clothes & diaper changed, and got her calmed down and ready to be rocked to sleep.

She laid with him very sweetly for a while, but she wasn’t falling asleep. I went over and asked her if she wanted to lay in her bed, and she was so sweet, nodding her head and saying yeah. So I loved on her, and then laid her down. She fussed for a minute or two, but then quickly quieted down and fell asleep.

I’m going to force Jeff to work on my puzzle with me for a while now tonight, because we can’t get our Christmas tree put up in it’s normal spot in the dining room, until we finish the puzzle, and can put the card table away again… So we’ve got some work to do!

And just to finish off this post, here’s a few pictures of the four girls at their cousin sleepover tonight!
