Ten Galaxies

This morning, Emmie found Sheppy hanging out with her Christmas books, getting some reading done.

We met Nana & PopPop at Keke’s Breakfast Cafe for some delicious breakfast, and Nana even came with a few small things for the girls, like a new Christmas book for Emmie and Christmas bibs for Addie.

They give out these little wiki sticks (I think that’s what they’re called?), and after she played with them for a while, she then wanted me to make her a pair of glasses, so this is what we came up with 😉

This was my first time ever eating here before, but I absolutely loved this Greek omelet that I got, with tomatoes, feta, and spinach, and I added sausage. And it was just perfect! Those home fries/potatoes were good really good too, and I just loved every bite of this! I’ll definitely be eating here again.

After breakfast, we took Addie and Jeff back home for a bottle and her nap, and Emmie, Nana and I did some Christmas shopping. We went to Dollar Tree, Bealls Outlet, Ross, and Walmart, and then picked up my Walmart grocery order, and I was exhausted after all of that!

I made up some tuna for lunch, and we had strawberries and popcorn on the side, and then we got both girls down for their naps. I ended up falling asleep on the couch, and Jeff ended up doing some work on the computer. When I heard Addison start waking up, I went into her room to get her, and found her like this! She’s been trying to pull up like this for a couple of weeks now, but she finally did it today! Look how proud of herself she is! So Jeff added “lower the crib” to his chore list this afternoon, and got it done right before dinner.

These two hung out in her crib playing with some toys and watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, while Jeff was helping his brother do some computer/internet stuff remotely, and I did some tidying up and finished putting the groceries away.

A couple nights ago when I made dinner, I browned two pounds of ground beef, used half & saved half. So tonight, I used that second half to make up some spaghetti, for a very easy dinner with a salad on the side. We rarely ever cook at home on a Saturday night (I cook almost every weeknight and typically we splurge on take-out or going out to eat on Saturdays), so it felt more like a weeknight eating a home-cooked meal on a Saturday.

Addie-girl is just getting really obsessed with her little baby food lately, and will eat almost the entire container every time now. Looks like we need to bump her up to pretty much three “meals” a day, with bottles, cuz girlfriend has been going after it lately!

We did a super quick bath time after dinner, and put both girls in some Christmas jammies. Well, Emmie doesn’t have new ones, but we found this one hand-me-down top, and paired it with some comfy shorts, and that was good enough for tonight.

And then we went on a little nighttime adventure to see the lights at the Allison Christmas Spectacular! We let Emmie unbuckle from her seat and sit in my lap, and we went through it two times. And as always, it was great and we loved it!

It was already past Emmie’s bedtime by the time we got home, but I wanted to get a picture of the girls in their Christmas jammies together, because they’re just so stinking cute!

We had a very quick, and very easy bedtime tonight, and both girls were out like a light in a heartbeat. When I was putting Emerson to sleep, she said, “Mommy, I love you a whole galaxy.” I said, “Aww baby that’s so sweet, I love that. And I love you two whole galaxies!” And she says, “Only two? That’s not a lot. That’s only one, two.” (While holding up one pointer finger on each hand.) So I said, “Oh well excuse me ma’am, how about I love you TEN galaxies!?” And she said, “Yeah, ten’s a lot, that’s this many.” (While holding up all 10 fingers.) That girl is the sweetest and the goofiest, and I really do lover her ten galaxies!

Praying both of them sleep really well all night, so we can all get lots of good weekend-rest!
