Tea Town & Book Club

(Post for Friday, 8/25/2023.)

Cute little girls, ready for Friday!

I loved the way Addie was holding her hands behind her back, walking down the hallway to her classroom at drop-off.

I wasn’t planning to get a fancy coffee treat for the third day in a row, but when I saw the Frother’s Daughter special of the day, for their last day in downtown, I just needed it! Jeff was nice enough to even go by and pick it up, and drop it off at my office for me! I sent him this screenshot from their Instagram, and was so thankful he was willing to get it for me 🙂

And it was sooo delicious. They named it the “Tea Town” (like Tally, get it?), and it was a iced caramel and brown sugar cinnamon dirty chai with pumpkin vanilla cold foam and pumpkin spice sprinkle. Mmm soo good!! Like fall in a cup!

I made another really yummy Mediterranean rice bowl for my lunch at the office, but just did a vegetarian version with no chicken this time, and it was still so good. So much flavor!

Cute little Addie had a great day at school!

Jeff picked up the girls from their schools, and took them to dinner at Culver’s, just the three of them.

I made a quick stop at Winn Dixie to get chips & queso, to go with our taco dinner at book club. And then I went to book club! We had a taco kit from El Cocinero (very, very good), and another girl brought a really good hot chili cheese dip situation, and we had such a great night! There were a few new folks, but out of 8 of us, 6 had finished the book, so we had great book conversation, and also just really great other conversation as well.

Jeff did a good job getting the girls down for bedtime on his own, so I decided to  let myself stay out really late, without constantly worrying, since everything was under control at home. I didn’t even get home until like 11:15pm, after lots of good hang-out time and chats and good food with fellow book lovers. But since it was so late, I didn’t write this post before bedtime.

Right now, it’s Saturday afternoon, and I’m writing this while the girls are napping, and the backyard inflatable pool is filling. Then as soon as they wake up, we’re getting in the water, because it’s a nice hot, beautiful summer Saturday out there!
