Taro Slush

My pretty girls were very fancy and beautiful this morning, all dressed up for picture day at school!

So I actually took the girls to school today, and then took myself to NFWC for my annual well-woman appointment. It took quite a while there today, but when I finally finished up, I went to Ilias Coffee for another Stars Hollow latte, since she was just a block or so away from the hospital this morning.

And actually, I had the whole day off, so next up I took myself to brunch at Uptown Cafe with my coffee and a book. I really wanted a bagel so I could add a ridiculous amount of their homemade garlic dill cream cheese, but they were out of bagels, and although the server suggested I put it on a biscuit, that sounded too weird. But the meal was really yummy.

Next up, I ran into Dillard’s really quick for a random adventure, test-sniffing a few perfumes, because I was curious. (And then I’ll probably buy one off Depop or something, since I definitely don’t wanna pay full retail price.) Then back home for a little bit, before taking Jeff off to his next “adventure….”

He turned 45 earlier this year, and based on family history and his own history, he had to have his first colonoscopy today. (He gave me permission to share that, because I wasn’t sure if that was TMI or not, but he said it was okay, so…) It was actually scheduled late this afternoon, and turns out, he was literally the last one for surgery, and so that meant I was the last one in the waiting room. Even the front desk ladies left before I did, and so it was a very weird 30 minutes in there at the end of the day, all by myself! But, I did get plenty of reading time there.

The procedure went well, and we finally got out of there around 6pm or so. After he fasted for over 24 hours, he was starving and read for food. He wanted Arby’s (weird choice post-colonoscopy, but hey…), but I wanted Paris Banh Mi, so we made two separate stops before heading back home. I got the combo bahn mi and a taro slush, and it was sooo good. I love those pickled veggies and the spread and the bread, everything is just delicious.

And my nails were literally the exact same color as the slush, so that was cute.

Grammy helped us out today, by picking up the girls from school, getting them dinner at Culver’s, and then getting them to church. After getting Jeff settled at home, I went back to the church to hang out with my sister a bit, and bring Emerson home. (Addison fell asleep in Grammy’s car, and wouldn’t wake up for church, so she had actually brought her to the house instead after she dropped off Emerson earlier.) We had snacks and some tv time, and then both girls fell asleep quickly once they were tucked up in their beds together.
