The weather was beautiful on this Friday morning! The sun was shining bright and orange, and it was only 66 degrees, and it felt amazing! I was wishing I could just sit on the back porch, slowly sipping my coffee from a cute mug, instead of driving to work!
But put this little girl in a romper, with pockets!, and she gets so excited and so happy, and that makes Mommy happy too!
And please look at this little tongue sticking out!
Annddd she needed a chocolate chip muffin this morning. And she was a happy little camper!
It looks like she had a good day at school, ans apparently had an outfit change at some point. When I asked her tonight what happened, she said, “romper wet.” So my guess is she got into the water fountain on the playground again, and was soaking wet!
Our Bureau Chief threw a little “tailgate party” for lunch today, and we all brought food and contributed to a giant potluck. (I took the easy route since I was busy last night, and just brought chips & {store-bought} salsa. Still delish though!) She even decorated, and wore a referee’s uniform, which was so cute! And we had TONS of yummy snacks and foods for lunch today, and we played a few games as well. (I couldn’t get in early enough to take photos before we started, so things are half gone in the photos…)
After work, I picked up my sweet Tater Tot, and we headed on home. Jeff got off work a little bit early today (they’re doing some work in his office & so they kick everyone out early on Fridays), and so he was waiting for us when we got home! After a busy, busy week (we’ve had weird nights every night this week!), it was so nice to just come straight home, and have a normal, chill routine!
While I made sausage & potatoes (with peppers & onions) for dinner, Daddy & Emmie got the mail, played outside, and had a quick snack. Then we got to eat together for the first time since Sunday! I was jealous of the fun they were having, but man it was so much easier making dinner without a toddler on my hip! Plus, I had a great view out my kitchen window. 😍
(I ran out for like 30 seconds to take photos and videos and get hugs and kisses.)
And this one-pot made-up dinner turned out great. Butter, olive oil, onion, garlic, potatoes, bell pepper, sausage, S&P. Saute for about 20 minutes. Done! And was actually even tastier than I was expecting. Even Emerson like the “chicken!” (She said it, do I just went with it so she would keep eating it.)
Beautiful September sunlight streaming through the front windows during dinner time!
After dinner, Jeff went outside to mow th front yard. Emmie and I stayed in to hangout, and mostly just play.
She specifically asked for “glasses man” to sit on the keyboard while she played.
So while she entertained me with her beautiful music, I tidied up my messy bookshelf (and surrounding area in the dining room; you can kind of see the mess behind her rockin chair in the photo above), and even dusted! I really need to find something to hang above the keyboard though…
She wanted to wear her Moana outfit to bed, so I didn’t fight her over it. She had a snack (cereal from a Ziploc bag), while I read her night-night books.
After books, I always turn her around on my lap to sit facing me, and we say prayers that way. She kind of mumbles along with me as I say them, getting out a real word every so often. Then I asked her who else she wanted to pray for, and she thought it through and said, “Gammy….. Papa….. New house.” She is so thoughtful and sweet!
Then we chatted a little about her day today, and talked about our plans for tomorrow. We talked about seeing our family and going to Grammy & Papa’s new house to swim. Then I told her Megan and Bo would be there, and asked her the babies’ names.
She immediately said, “Ellie Grace Pullen!” (Except, without R’s or L’s.) And I laughed and said that was so close! Then we worked on learning their actual last name, and she tried to remember the other two babies. She again said “Riley Pen,” so we tried to work on “Lynn” instead. And she can repeat “Kinsy Hope” but never remembers that one on her yet. She then said, “Emmie Hope?” So we worked on “Emerson Secille,” but that was tricky, so we just did “Emmie-cille,” which is already one of her nicknames anyways!
It was a really sweet few minutes with hee, and I always love our sweet little moments like this right before bedtime, when it’s just me and her, chatting and loving and sharing kisses, and it just make my Mommy heart so full!
I’m skipping dishes tonight, giving myself some extra rest time after a busy week. Looking forward to family time tomorrow!
