Family Lunch & Swim at the New House!

As usual, this little baby cutie pie woke up bright and early. We had a few caramel rice cake crisps for her pre-breakfast appetizer, and just snuggled quietly for a while.

Then once Jeff woke up, I made breakfast tacos, with eggs, sausage, home fries & cheese. Plus salsa. And obviously coffee.

We played at home for just a little bit and then got ready to head out. We had a 30-minute drive to Grammy & Papa’s new house, so I tucked her in with a cozy blanket, and encouraged her to rest on the way there, so she would be ready to play! She didn’t really sleep, but she did rest, and she did look adorable.

And then she really was ready to play! She was very interested in this teeny little house. It was actually an air-conditioned dog house for the previous owners, but it’s obviously going to be turned into a play house for four baby grand-girls!

And then we went for a quick swim before lunch.

Followed by BBQ sammies, homemade baked beans, and homemade potato salad. Yum! (Kensley)

Aaron stole & wore my sunglasses. Oh yeah, my cousin Aaron and his girlfriend have been visiting from Missouri for the last few days. And actually, Mandy is his fiance now, because they got engaged on the beach at sunset a couple nights ago! So Mandy will officially be joining our family now!

Ellie.

Riley was the only triplet that wanted to swim today, but this little water baby stayed in the pool for the longest time, just loving it the whole time!

There is a pirate ship playhouse in the new backyard. I repeat – a PIRATE SHIP you guys!!

Ellie was conked out, and didn’t swim at all. (They got 6-month vaccinations & flu shots yesterday, and Ellie was not feeling all that great.)

After more swimming and playing, Emerson needed a nap. We all three laid down in Grandmommie’s bed, we sand her lullabies & said prayers, and even though she chatted & tried to keep herself awake for a while, but eventually she gave in, and conked out too! Her and Daddy ended up sleeping about 1.5 hours, and I was so proud of her.

While all the babies napped, the ladies worked & unpacked.

And while the ladies were working, all the dad’s were sleeping…

Sweet Emmie was the first little one awake, so she got lots of one-on-one time with all of her favorite people.

And then the littlest girls finally woke up as well. (Riley with Papa, and Kensley with Grammy.)

And look at how adorable and sweet these four cousin girls are!

When it was time to head out, we had to do some sneaking and distracting so that Emmie didn’t get really upset to leave her people. So her and I took a while down the long driveway…

And found a little free library directly across the street! So we checked it out, and picked a book (that’s not exactly my type, but Emmie wanted it, so we’ll probably just put it back again next time).

It was almost  6:15 by the time we left, and with a 30-minute drive home, we just grabbed a pizza and cheese bread from Little Caesar’s on the way home.

And then it was straight to bed for tired Tater Tot’s! After getting her jammies on, she instantly kneeled down and was ready for her prayers. It was precious.

Then Daddy came & we read our bedtime books.

She gave great hugs and kisses, and then I did our three lullabies. And after a quick minute of back-scratching once I laid her down, she was out like a light!

We had a great day being with family all day, and we just all had so much fun. I loved my parents new house, and I can’t wait for all the memories I know we’ll make there for many years to come! I also am so excited for many future summers spent in their pool and backyard! It will be great!

And now I’m absolutely exhausted. I doubt it’ll be long before I do my usual routine and just fall asleep on the couch. Night friends!
