Sweet Library Helper

Jeff and the boys got up and hit the road early this morning. Emerson gave everyone hugs and kisses, but we kept it really casual so she wouldn’t get worked up or upset. Then her and I also hit the road to go have breakfast with the family. Uncle Keith and Aunt Suzanne were out of town, as we’re Bo & Megan, but Grandmother cooked a huge delicious meal for us, as well as Grammy and Papa.

Then we took a ladies shopping trip to Costco. Bo had bought Megan some sneakers there recently, and I decided I wanted the exact same ones! I’ve been wanting/needing new ones for a while, but I don’t often wear tennis shoes, and just kept putting it off. I figured this would be an easy solution, to just copy-cat my sister, and it worked out great! I also got a few other things we just happened upon, plus Grammy bought Emerson a new book as well.

We spent some more time together after shopping, before heading home for Emmie’s nap time. On the way to the car, we stopped to check out this gigantic, really cool feather!

Emerson fought nap time for a while, so it was nearly 1pm before I finally got her down. I then laid down myself, and napped for a short time as well. When I woke up, I had a late lunch made from Costco goodies (pimento cheese & cashew clusters), and enjoyed the quiet house.

And here is my Costco “haul.” Sneakers, socks, new book, fall outfit for Emerson, and two shirts for me (although I might return them because they’re a little shorter than I like).

After Emmie woke up and had a snack (applesauce fruit pouch & Pringles), we went out to do some Mommy/Daughter errands. It’s been awhile since we’ve done anything just the two of us, and we had a really nice afternoon together. We first went to the library, to return a couple books of mine, and four books Ryan had checked out, and pick up one I had on hold. And can you even believe how grown she looks? Like, why does she look likes she’s 5 years old all of a sudden?!

She was such a sweet little library helper!

This super cool Wonder Woman display was made out of post-it notes!

Sweet little helper put my new library book in our bag, and carried it for me, all while holding my hand. ♥️

We made a quick trip to Shoe Station to get some of the teeny tiny no-show socks for my new tennis shoes, and I had to break Emerson’s heart and not buy her this giant stuffed animal she fell in love with.

We also went into Trader Joe’s just to kind of browse all the things and kill some time, and of course she wanted a banana.

We took our groceries home to put away the cold stuff, and then headed over to Jeff’s parents house for dinner. They had been in Charlotte for the last few days, and they got home tonight at the same time Jeff did.

We whipped up some spaghetti really quick, hoping we wouldn’t lose power in the crazy lightning and thunderstorm that was happening. We took off Emerson’s clothes, thinking she might get messy, but then she only wanted butter noodles instead of sauce, and was of course mostly neat and tidy anyways!

But we did bath time there, and that little monster smelled so good and clean!

After running around for a few more minutes, we loaded up and headed back home. I let her sit and read her new Costco book on the couch for a few minutes before bedtime, and she was absolutely loving it.

Bedtime was easy tonight, and the whole process only took about 15 minutes, and then she was out like a light.

And now I’m going to complain again, for what feels like the hundreth time in two weeks, because I’m still battling this weird sinus / cold issue. I’ve got pressure in my head behind my eyes, congestion in my nose and a slightly sore throat. It just seems like I’ve been fighting it for a long time without it ever really getting bad, but it’s still enough to wear me out every day. I’m just tired of it and I want it to go away! Going to make some hot tea again, and then try to just rest for a little bit and go to bed early.
