Sunny Sunday Lunch

I was at church this morning super early for praise team rehearsal. Megan and I were both on the team today, and we both stopped by Dunkin on our way for a hot latte to wake us up…

Jeff got the girls dressed at home and got them to church on his own. Emerson picked out her own outfit today, and instead of choosing bikers for under her dress, she ended up wearing pj shorts, backwards, under her dress😆

We went to Burrito Boarder for lunch after church, and this “Yer a Taco, Harry,” sticker really made me laugh. I wanted one for myself!

They have an awesome outdoor seating area with the fake turf and tons of lawn games, and it was so beautiful and sunny and the girls loved running around and playing. The sun was shining so bright and warm, and I loved feeling the warmth on my skin after the last couple of dreary days!

It was a little pricey, but the outdoor area was awesome, and it was delicious, so it was worth it today. (Actually, I realized tonight when I checked my email receipt, they accidentally charged us for 2 kids meals, when we only got one. So I’ll have to call them tomorrow, and hopefully they can get that fixed, or give us a credit for next time or something.)

It was of course nap time once we got home from lunch, and Emmie wanted to nap with Mommy. Jeff got Addie to sleep and laid her down, but for some reason she woke up after only one hour, and wouldn’t go back to sleep. On the other hand, Emmie and I slept together (with Pretzel, obvs), for about 2.5 hours, which I was really needing.

Emmie got up out of bed a few minutes before I did, and when I walked into the living room, she was wearing one of her ballet leotards, and a purse, and said, “Look Mommy, I’ve got on my zucchini!” Then she changed into this hand-me-down gymnastics leotard, and wanted to go outside to put on a show for me. Addie sat down on a wet doormat, and walked around the whole time with a soggy bottom.

We played in Addie’s room for a bit once it started getting a little too cool & dark, and then we straightened up her room & I picked out her clothes for the upcoming week.

We did some easy leftovers and such for a hodge-podge dinner at home (didn’t feel like cooking, but didn’t want to spend any more money…), and both girls just tore up the rice.

Since Addie napped so short today, she actually fell asleep (for the first time) really quickly and early, and was in her bed by 7:40pm. So I let Emmie play on her Kindle for 10 minutes, and I worked on my puzzle. Then we went through Emmie’s bedtime, but by that point, Addie had woken up and was starting to cry.

Then the next hour was spent going back and forth between the two girls taking turns crying and breaking down, and me trying to calm them down and get them back to sleep. Addie was snotty and crying, Emmie was scared and crying, and it was just a mess. It’s almost 10pm now, and Emerson is asleep in her bed, but Jeff is still just holding Addison asleep in his arms. Hopefully we can get her down for good soon, and that she’ll sleep through the night.
