Summer Sisters

For their last day together today, the girls went on a little adventure to Wakulla Springs! They were able to swim a little bit, and take a boat ride, and have lunch at the old fashioned soda shop. All of that before the afternoon rain storms hit!

My sister picked me up for a lunch date at the Essence of India buffet today, and it was very yummy. And we had so much to catch up on, since we hadn’t actually seen each other in almost two weeks I think!

After Wakulla Springs, they had ice cream back in Havana, and had a little bit of down time. Then they brought the girls back to me at the end of the day when I got off work. We hit up a Little Free Library, and Emerson likes to hop out and pick books for me sometimes. And she found me a good one today.

Then we went out to our Pastor’s house, for a GC Kids’ leaders pool party. We had BBQ chicken sliders, fruit skewers, and veggie cups, and then an ice cream float bar for dessert! I was a good girl and ate my veggies and fruit and other dinner things, but skipped the float.

We were some of the last to get the kids out of the pool and changed into dry clothes, so it was after 9pm by the time we got home. The girls were excited to see Pennie, and also very much ready to go to sleep actually!

Super fun night hanging out with some of our favorite people! I spent the whole night just sitting and talking to everyone about books, work, vacations, kids, and whatever else. Emerson and I both said on the way home that even though we don’t like big crowds, when it’s a crowd of our best friends, it’s fun!
