(Post for Thursday 2/23/23.)
Although Wednesday morning had been rough, and Wednesday afternoon/evening resulted in fever again, Thursday morning started off with sweet, haply girls!
Jeff dropped off Emerson at school, and then took Addison back to to doctor’s office. Turns out, she tested positive for strep throat, so that certainly explains some things from this week. And although strep is not fun, at least it’s treatable with antibiotics.
They got some breakfast on the way home, but she didn’t feel like eating much. She was still happy and playful though!
They ran back out to Publix mid-morning to pick up her antibiotics. We usually get our meds from CVS, but apparently every single CVS in town is out of amoxicillin, but luckily Publix was able to fill it for us.
I had gone to work at the office from 7:30am – 12:30om, then headed home to switch off with Jeff. She was still awake when I got home, but after some lunch and a little more playtime, I was able to get her down for a nice long nap. And while she napped, I got in another two hours of telework, and was actually very productive.
She started crying around 3:45, so I went to get her up. But after I sat down with her to send one last email, she literally fell asleep again in like 10 seconds. So I hit send on my email to sign off for the day, and then walked over to the recliner with this sleepy love bug, where she slept for another 30 minutes.
Once she woke up, her and I headed out to pick up Emerson from school. When we got back home I washed up some dishes, and then it was time to get started on dinner. I made a very veggie-laden Thai chicken curry, and it was soooo good.
Right before dinner time, things started falling apart. Emerson was crying about the smallest things, and had a big meltdown over her drink at dinner. Then once she calmed down, she went to lay her head on the table, and somehow just slammed her face into the wood.
Then after dinner, Addison tripped and bit her tongue, and it was bleeding and she was screaming. A few other things happened, and it was clear these girls were just exhausted, and needed sleep. So we got them both calmed down and changed into jammies, and started on an early bedtime. And as usual, I fell asleep rocking Addison to sleep, and then I was just so tired I decided to put myself to bed early too, and skip writing this post.
Then this morning (Friday), I was so well-rested, I actually woke up early, about an hour before the alarm, and couldn’t even fall back to sleep… Go figure!
