We spent most of the day today in and around downtown Gatlinburg, starting with breakfast bright and early at the Pancake Pantry.

Then we spent a couple of hours walking up and down the street popping into shops when we saw something interesting.

Baby brother stayed in his stroller most of the time, and was fighting a nap. So we found a spot to chill and have him a bottle right in his stroller, and then he conked out. Meg was worried about him being too cold, so she wrapped his head up more and he was very cozy in there for a while.

Had to get some rocks as a souvenir of course! I always collected rocks as a kid (and so did Jeff), so obviously our kids would be interested in that too.

Meg and Bo took their girls back to the cabin for nap time, but first we spent a little while exploring the Salt & Pepper Shaker Museum with the grandparents, where we saw over 20,000 sets of shakers! I did buy a little souvenir pair, which was perfect, since I’d been wanting another cute pair to leave on the dining table, since I already have the cute owls in the kitchen.

They’re all organized by themes and styles and colors and eras, and it’s actually really neat! We saw tons of really cool ones, some that were kinda creepy, and some that were cute and obviously some very unique ones.

We did have a little rest time in the cabin late this afternoon, before getting cleaned up and heading back into downtown Gatlinburg for a fancy steak supper at The Peddler. They have a beautiful amazing unlimited salad bar with every meal, and I always love me a salad bar.

Jeff and I shared this giant filet mignon, and I shared the girls’ sides, and I had a second plate of salad, and I was stuffed.

The restaurant is right on the little river, so of course we had to take some nice family photos out by the river after dinner.

We took the scenic bypass route on the way back to the cabin, and had beautiful views on curvy back country roads, while listening to Dolly Parton. It was definitely the perfect post-dinner-Tennessee-vacay vibe.

The girls had a late-evening dip in the hot tub before their bedtime, and even most of the adults went to bed early after that. We only have one more full day left together, so we’re gonna try to make the most of it!
