You guys, we’ve had the best day today! But you know I am absolutely worn out now, and it’s not quite even 9pm. But lemme tell you about our day… Around 7:30am, Jeff and Nita hit the road to go pick up Ryan to spend his spring break with us. (Gabe is actually in Hawaii for a giant marching band competition!) Then once the girls and I were dressed, we met up with Aunt Meggie, Uncle Bo & the triplets, for a super fun morning at the Springtime Tallahassee Parade!
We had a super great spot with our blanket and strollers (full of a million snacks and waters), and had a blast watching the motorcycle cops, the fire trucks, ambulances, and all the cool parade floats, and collecting ALLLLL the beads and candy!
On our way back to the cars, Addison would not let me put her in the stroller, and she would only let Uncle Bo hold her. So he carried her and pushed one stroller, and I pushed the double stroller with two girls, and Meg pushed a stroller, and luckily the walk back to the cars was all downhill, because we were so hot & tired!
I gave Addie a few more snacks when we got home, and made Emmie a sandwich, and made myself a tunacado sandwich and some iced coffee. Then I got Addie down for a nap, and I even got Emmie to nap for a little bit as well, while I watched an episode of “Survivor.”
We had to wake Addison up early from her nap, unfortunately, but she was still pretty happy anyways. We got our shoes back on, and refreshed our water cups, and headed back out again. The old cheap movie theater has now been turned into a rock climbing gym, if you didn’t know (I didn’t know until today), and it’s really cool. And one of Emmie’s school friends had her birthday party there today.
And y’all, I was SO IMPRESSED with Emerson and how well she did! She wasn’t the least bit nervous or anxious, and she just immediately started climbing, and she was so good at it!
Look at this video (that I sped up double-time), to see how awesome Emmie was at rock climbing today!
Kept this baby sister entertained with a drawing tablet, and lots of snacks, and was able to keep her in the stroller for at least 1.5 hours of the 2-hour party, since I was still solo-parenting at this point…
By the time we loaded up all the birthday party kids with cupcakes and icing and apple juice, and it was time to head out, Nana and Ryan and Jeff were almost back in town. So I literally just drove around the parking lot for 10 minutes, and then we went “right next door” to eat dinner at Sonny’s, where PopPop met us too.
When we got back home, we got those messy, stinky little girls into the bathtub to get cleaned up, and then started on bedtime. We got a melatonin gummy in both of them to help them sleep (didn’t want them to get into that over-tired state where they end up fighting sleep), and so the whole bedtime routine went really quick and easy, thankfully.
I’m going to paint my nails really quickly, and then use my super-quick-drying top coat, so that it’s dry in like 5 minutes, and then I’m taking my exhausted behind to bed, because I need some rest, and tomorrow is going to be an early morning, and another busy day!
