Look at these precious baby girls, ready for another big day!
I walked the block and a half over to my sister’s office again today to eat lunch with her. She wanted to make a quick run down to Lucky Goat for a special coffee treat, but since I didn’t have my wallet, she bought me one too!
I got a Snowflake Crunch latte, with cinnamon & vanilla, and it was so stinking delicious. I wanted another one by like 2pm, not because I needed more caffeine, but just because it was so good!
Emerson had another great day at Mega Sports Camp, and then Jeff picked her up and dropped her off at school for the afternoon.
Addison had such a great day at school today!
This little boy is Addie’s bestie, and we see them playing together a lot. They even look similar to me, with their bright blonde hair, fair skin and blue eyes. And he will even get excited to see me in the afternoons, as if I’m there to pick him up too!
They were all helping to wipe and clean up the table 🙂
Little Baby Addie Pie was out cold when we got home, with my sweater half in her lap, and one leg slung over the side of her car seat.
I made another meal using a few Aldi items, plus a random assortment of fresh veggies I found in the fridge that needed to be used up – carrot chips, zucchini & half a red onion.
While dinner was cooking, Jeff was getting things ready to mow the yard after dinner. He went out back and came back in and was like, “Hey babes, come with me and let me show you something.” I honestly had no idea what I would need to immediately come see in the backyard, but when I stepped out and saw this, it brought tears to my eyes! This is my old peace lily from my Granddaddy’s funeral almost 6 years ago, that I’ve kept alive this whole time, until it started randomly dying a few months back. (You can see it looking so sad in the dinner photos on this post.) I did everything I could think of to revive it, but it just never recovered.
So I actually bought myself a new one, in honor of Granddaddy, and moved this old one to the table on the back patio. I was honestly just not ready to actually dump it out, and so it sat on the table for at least a month. The whole thing was brown and black and dry and dead, until Jeff went out and saw these brand new leaves sprouting up! I pulled out all the old dead leaves, and I’m really hoping and praying these precious little sprouts thrive, and that it will come back beautiful again! (I’m going to need to get my little clippers out to cut off some of these remaining dead parts this weekend.)
Ok now back to dinner… The salmon turned out great, the risotto was yummy, but the veggies looked better than they actually were…
After dinner, Jeff started mowing the backyard, and I did bath time and quiet time with the girls. I was feeding Addison a bottle afterwards, and Emmie took this picture of Jeff from out the back door, and I was so proud of her for getting the shot!
The girls had a little bit of tv-watching time while we tried to calm down and settle down, and they played a little on the blanket together.
We went to Emerson’s bedroom together to do bedtime book and prayers and lullabies.
It was pretty easy to rock Addison to sleep, but Emerson kept getting out of bed, and wanting Daddy, and needing water, and needing a bathroom break, needing ice for her shin… But finally around 9:30, she stopped fighting and fell asleep. Jeff is of course exhausted after mowing (half) the yard, so we’ll see if he’s even still awake when I head back to the living room now…
