Legendary Week of Camp

The sky was so gorgeous when I opened the back door to let Pretzel out at 6:30am, that I had to go back in and grab the phone to snap a picture. YOu can even see some birds blurring by, and the tiny crescent mood high in the sky. I just loved it!

Both girls were very sleepy this morning, and we actually had to wake up both of them, which is why Emmie is still in her nightgown when it was time for Addison and I to head to school.

But Addie was sweet and happy, and ready to see her teacher and have a fun day playing!

And once Emerson was dressed & ready, Jeff dropped her off at Mega Sports Camp, with her hand soap (and Clorox wipes, not pictured) for the hygiene drive for some local teachers. And Aunt Meggie was there today, so of course Emmie was so excited to see her!

Then Jeff and I both took an early lunch today to attend the closing rally for camp, and watch her little cheerleading group perform for the whole camp!

(I had put Jeff in charge of the video, so I’m not sure why he stopped and started so many times, but we can still see most of their little show.)

This is Mega, he’s the Mega Sports Camp mascot, and the kids are all absolutely obsessed with him.

I went back to work after the rally, but Jeff took the afternoon off, to have a fun Daddy-Daughter day with Emerson. They had lunch at Culver’s (her choice), and then went home to do some projects (we got a window a/c unit for the front room where Jeff’s WFH “office” is in our front room, so we don’t have to attempt to cool the entire house all day long every single day) and Emmie worked on some of her own experiments out in the carport.

Addison had some fun at school today…

And then Jeff and Emmie picked up Addie towards the end of the day, and I just went straight home after work. We had an easy take-&-bake pizza from Aldi for dinner tonight, and then lots of playtime just hanging out together.

And Emmie finally showed off the Bible verse that she learned this week. She actually just started reciting it out of nowhere, so I very quickly pulled out my phone & started the video, and made her start over. I’m just so stinking proud of her, and although I’m so glad she had so much fun this week, I’m beyond thrilled that she learned about Jesus this week. Uncle/Pastor Bo does some a great job leading their children’s ministry, and Aunt Meggie is such a perfect compliment in her role with him. I’m so proud of them, and I’m so glad Emmie could go to their camp for her first time. It truly was a legendary week of camp for Emerson!

We let both girls stay up a little late, and Jeff actually had to run to Walgreens really quick for some bedtime milk for Addie. Then Emmie and I read a chapter of Matilda, and then finally got her to bed a little after 9pm. She didn’t even take a nap today, but she did really well with that. (Which is good, because we’re cutting out naps for her all together in August, to get ready for kindergarten.)

I washed up a load of dishes earlier while the pizza was baking, so we only have the plates from tonight in the sink, and those can wait until tomorrow. I’m ready for just a little bit of chill out time before heading off to bed!
