Sleigh Ride Latte

Today was a great, Christmassy day, full of lots of fun Christmassy things. The girls were wearing cute matching Rudolph outfits from Nana for the Christmas service at church this morning.

And we had a great morning at church today! Shipley’s donuts as always. Then, The Frother’s Daughter was there, and everyone got complimentary drinks, as a gift from the church. Redemptive Love Farm also came and brought a few animals for a small petting area, and there were cute photo spots set-up for family photos.

I got the hot sleigh ride latte, since it was like 30-something degrees this morning, and clearly I needed a hot coffee instead of an iced one…

We actually attend the GC Christmas service last year too as just visitors, and it was special to be there again this year. And again like last year, Pastor Brian recognized a few special families that have been going through hard times, and yet still prioritizing getting their families to church all the time, and gave out special Christmas gifts to them. It made me cry, for the second time at church this morning! (The first time was during worship, but I almost always cry during worship…)

And Addie had fun with her teachers and friends in her class, and actually got some pics today!

Both girls went to see the animals during church with their friends, but we had to go again afterwards, so they could see all the animals again.

Had to stop for a second coffee on the way out, to get an iced one, since it had slightly warmed up 😉

We picked up a pizza on the way home (Addie fell asleep on the way home too of course), and ate together, before all of us went to sleep for a little afternoon nap time.

The beautiful afternoon sunlight was streaming in the front windows behind the Christmas tree when we woke up from our naps, and it just looks so perfect!

And since the weather was so beautiful, we bundled up in some jeans and hoodies all around, and went to our local neighborhood park, and we actually had the place to ourselves this time!

I was absolutely obsessed with Addison in this little hand-me-down vest that used to be Emerson’s. Addie kept wandering around just on her own, really exploring and making the most of her little adventure vest 😉

Jeff was really craving big ole juicy burger for dinner, so we hit up Five Guys in Midtown, and it really was delicious. The girls shared one burger, and the each ate all of their respective halves, plus lots of French fries & roasted peanuts for Emmie.

And somehow, my tiny little 5-year-old can still fit in this 6-12m size vest, and zip it up even!!!

We actually decided to drive through Dorothy B. Oven park on our way home, but we didn’t get out of the car. We promised Emerson we would come back again another night, when we had a little more time to spend walking around through the whole park.

Then at home, she just couldn’t wait one single day longer, to paint her fingernails with the new polish she was gifted from one of her teachers at church this morning.

After that, both girls needed a little bit extra loves and cuddles, and Jeff and I both took turns holding and snuggling each of them. They were still really sweet though, and of course we didn’t mind all the extra cuddles.

Like I said, we had a great, Christmassy day, and now I think it’s time for some hot cocoa to warm up, and a Christmas movie with my hubby 🙂
