Cheese Dip & Chili

Emerson absolutely begged for this cereal at Walmart the other night, and obviously I gave in and got a box. And clearly we’ve been flying through it. It tastes kinda like cocoa puffs, it’s pretty good.

After breakfast, we spent an hour or more starting on chores and cleaning. Then Emmie and the girls and I got dressed. Addie stayed home with Jeff, but Emmie and I went out to run errands and pick up our Walmart grocery order.

She had a little charcuterie plate (which just means cut up turkey & cheese) for her lunch, and then she was ready for a nap.

After our errands and groceries, Emmie and I picked up Chick-fil-A for lunch, using a couple of gift cards that we found while cleaning this morning. She watched “The Polar Express” at school last week, and has been dying to watch it again, so we did that while we ate.

Then we did a little bit more cleaning and laundry, and I accidentally fell asleep in the comfy chair in the dining room, and Emmie ended up falling asleep right there on the floor in the living room.

I eventually took a shower, and Addison woke up after about a 3-hour nap. Then I sautéed the meat & onions on the stove, and then mixed up the chili in the crockpot to simmer for dinner.

And then we had our friends over for a little Christmas dinner together! Britney and I both got each other gifts (I’ll have to take pics tomorrow of what she got me) and the girls played, and we had lots of time to chat, and it was a really great evening. They also brought over a tiny crockpot of cheese dip for our appetizer, and that was delicious.

Then the little princesses wanted to find flashlights and go outside in the dark, to go on a little walkabout adventure. They picked a few bananas, and were somehow under the impression they could eat them, even though they were still hard as a rock and bright green.

They headed out once Addison started getting super sleepy and fussy, and seemingly ready for sleep. Then we got both of our girls ready for bed, with jammies and snacks and milk, and went through their bedtime routines.

We spent a lot of the day just doing chores and getting stuff done around the house, but it was so good to have friends over to hang out and have people in our home. But ya girl is tired and ready to sit down and rest!
