Shopping with Friends

Today started out with a quick breakfast at Dunkin, with the sunshine streaming in through the front windows.

Then we met up with my friend Renae and her daughter/Emmie’s friend, McKenzee, to check out the new Ollie’s over on our side of town. I was envisioning it to be more like a Ross or something like that, but it’s more like a discount grocery/department store, with everything from food, household items, decor, books, furniture, rugs, toys, and tons of other stuff. It was interesting, and of course we found things to throw in the cart to purchase.

Renae and Kenzee left to go pick up the rest of their family from football practice, so our fam ran next door to do a quick return at Walmart. We saw this giant egg roll truck in the back of the parking lot, so we decided to get some to bring home to try out. We got the mix and match combo, one hibachi roll & one cheese steak roll, with garlic parm fries. This box was $20, and although it was yummy and we all liked it, I didn’t like it enough to spend $20 on it again.

We had a little bit of movie rest time when we got home, finishing up Toy Story 5 that we started last night, and I started on a new puzzle. My mom got us this little four-count puzzle box when she went to Orlando/Disney Springs on a work trip a couple of months ago. The pieces were way tinier than I was expecting, and it took me way too long to just get the edges all put together.

After finishing the movie, we spent the bulk of the afternoon (about three hours or so), doing some major cleaning in both of the girls’ rooms. They were both just a super cluttered mess with things thrown and strewn everywhere, with clothes all over the dang place. We made a huge box of donate stuff, plus a garbage of donate stuff, and a big trash bag as well. And even with as much as we did get done, we probably still need to spend another hour in Addie’s room, and another half hour in Emmie’s room, to truly get things all cleared up. But that’s gonna have to wait for another day, another weekend!

We needed to get out of the house at that point, and the girls needed to get some energy out, so we loaded up Emmie’s bike and Addie’s scooter, and we went over to the church parking lot, where it was flat and smooth and they could ride without worrying about cars. Addie didn’t last very long though, because she got the world’s tiniest scrape, and acted like it needed surgery. But Emmie was having the time of her life, just flying around on her bike like a pro! I hooked up a blue tooth speaker I found in the back of my car, and she rode around listening to Harry Styles and The Jonas Brothers, singing along and just having a grand ole time!

We made an emergency run to Walgreens for ointment and bandaids for Addie, so she could survive the rest of the evening and through dinner. We went to Authentic Gyros & Grill on West Tennessee, a relatively new spot, with a menu the size of a dictionary. Wings, seafood, cheese steaks, chicken, gyros, falafel, about 10 side dishes, and 5 desserts, and tons more stuff. So we got a whole feast of things to try out, and accidentally ordered half the fried stuff on the menu. I’ll be needed some veggies and a salad or something tomorrow…

I got the girls into the bath tub when we got home, and I spent their bath time back on my puzzle again. After I helped them get dried off and dressed in clean jammies, they came up and helped me with the puzzle some more. And the three of us got it finished!

The girls were both exhausted after such a long day, and they fell asleep quickly after prayers and lullabies.

Jeff just started up a load of laundry, and although I need to wash dishes and repaint my nails, I’m not gonna do either of those things. Instead, I’m gonna make next weeks’ meal plan and grocery order, since I didn’t do that for today like I usually try to do…
